What is a Discover Seoul Pass?

Discover Seoul Pass is the Seoul’s first “free pass” available for 24 hours, 48 hours, and 72 hours.
Using the pass, you can visit Seoul's representative tourist attractions for free and enjoy various discount benefits in areas such as transportation, shopping and performance.

Free Entry
Have free access to major tourist attractions in Seoul

Discount
Discount benefits on performance shopping and one-day class

Transportation
Offers transportation card,
Airport Express Train(AREX),
Seoul Public Bike(Ttareungi)
Airport Bus(K Limousine)

The pass (both physical and digital) have an expiration date of 5 Years from the date of issue, so it may be good to get now if you have plans to travel to Seoul in the future.

A full list of things which the pass is good for can be found here.

To achieve the most value out of these passes, you would want to plan 1/2/3 days worth of activities that include as many things on their free-pass list as possible. The timer counts down as soon as the first activity is scanned (eg. Using the Arex Airport Express Train on a Monday 8pm means the 24hr pass will expire on Tuesday 8pm, etc.). The pass provides free access to the following (Not a complete list, I'm adding ones which provide the best value and some tourist traps sites:

  • Lotte World (₩62,000 normally ~A$70.20)
  • Coex Aquarium (₩33,000 normally ~A$37.36)
  • Aqua Planet 63 (₩27,000 normally ~A$30.57)
  • Gwangmyeong Cave (₩6,000 normally ~A$6.79)
  • Hanboknam(Their website is showing from ₩50,000 ~A$56.58) (Pass is for 90min hire though)
  • Gyeongbokgung Palace (₩3,000 normally ~A$3.39)
  • Changdeokgung Palace (₩3,000 normally ~A$3.39)
  • Deoksugung Palace (₩3,000 normally ~A$3.39)
  • Changyeonggung Palace (₩3,000 normally ~A$3.39)
  • Arex Airport Express (₩9,500 normally ~A$10.76) Note: One-way ticket only.
  • Seoul City Tour Bus (₩20,000 - ₩24,000 Depending on route ~A$22.65 - ~A$27.18)
  • Yellow Balloon City Buss (₩17,000 normally ~A$19.25)
  • Figure Museum W (₩15,000 normally ~A$16.98)
  • E Cruise ((₩16,900 - ₩29,900 depending which cruise option taken. ~A$19.13 - ~A$33.84)
  • Zoolung Zoolung(Indoor Zoo) (Website didn't translate it all but I'm seeing prices from ₩17,000 to ₩270,000 ~A$19.24 - ~A$305.68. Not sure what the pass includes with this one)

Some things close on Mondays, some on Tuesdays, others on the First and Third Monday of every month. Make sure you check beforehand.

Discounted benefits vary from 10% - 30% depending on the activity.

Pay using mobile to avoid having to install a "payment security" software. The Android app is literally just a browser portal to the websites so you can skip it and just use the browser instead.

They originally had issues with selling the 72hr pass when using the discount code but it got resolved just the other day, YMMV but you may or may not run into issues when buying. Setting the pickup date doesn't seem to work as it defaults to the day of purchase (you are provided with a barcode to scan for a voucher, and then you give the voucher to their service desk to get the pass). I have made an enquiry to support but am yet to hear back from them. Setting pickup location works.

Ill give you a tour for free ㅋㅋㅋ.

But pretty good value, especially with entry to Lotte World (Korean type of Disneyland).

    • where is the best kimchi ?

      • Any local kimbab cheonguk 김밥천국.

        • Do they do a good Army Stew?

        In North Korea

  • Wonder if Lotte World is just for entry or if it includes the ride as well. If so, this is true bargain.(*Just visiting the aquarium + AREX makes still valuable though)

    • Unless recently changed, you don't pay for any rides once inside.

      • Was there a month ago and can confirm rides are free once inside.

    • Rides are included but queues are 1 to 2 hours for a single ride.

  • thanks mod,
i will travel to korea next month, couple days ago just bought this pass on klook and i saw your post.
refund them and re-buy them on their website. save 30%.
actually, i save more than that as i will visit 4-5 free attractions from this pass, what a bargain! LOL.

do you know if it only lotte world or lotte aquarium included?

  • Thanks op

Thanks OP. I bought two 72 hour mobile passes but they are both on my Discover Seoul Pass app. Just need to work out how to transfer the 2nd pass to my better half.

    • Isn't it just a QR code that you can screenshot?

    • You should be able to present both pass to the ticketing booth with your partner at each attraction.

  • Is the DSP worth it if I'm not visiting Lotte World and amusement parks?

    • It depends on which attractions you plan to go to. If the total cost of the attractions is less than the cost of the pass then no, it isn't worth it. My plans would cost around $200 so the ~$72 pass is definitely worth it.

      • It's my first visit so honestly not sure which places I will visit. Bought the DSP anyway for the ease of mind & access (the Arex and Bus Pass will be useful for sure).

  • If I were to use my 28 Degree card. Which option will I pick from the drop down box? Master??

I tried it but the thinking wheel keep spinning and nothing happen. Any one else has this issue?

    • The 28 Degrees card looks like a Mastercard (https://www.28degreescard.com.au/) so you select 'Master'.

I used my Bankwest Qantas Platinum card using 'Master'.

Are you try from you phone or pc? There is payment issue if you try to use the pc. Payment will go through if you use an android phone. I too used my 28 degrees Mastercard to pay

      • Yeah you are right need to use the phone to order, so all good now,

        Thank you
