does hotels just mean general accommodation places?
As always, check the prices in a different browser when you go there directly. Most of these travel sites have a habit of providing a higher price through cashback affiliates that is often more than the direct price even after your cashback.
Plenty of info in the ozbargain forums about this one simple trick that cashrewards executives hate.
So often it is cheaper to contact the hotel directly.
Yeah they jack up the price so with cash rewards it's pretty much the same. I haven't bothered using it with bookings for my Japan trip.
And cashrewards at most times will also reject your cashback and accuse you of clicking away from the site or had ad blocker on or used a coupon when you didnt.
Gah, booked last night at 5.5 or 6% (or whatever it was). Sad.
Can't cancel and rebook?
Weird, I received an email with Expedia in the background - said up to 14% cashback but then when you click on it now, it's only 12%
