    NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3050Ti Laptop GPU, 4GB GDDR6

40w gpu by the looks of it?

Am I missing something here or is it a $1,600 laptop with a last gen processor (mobile version) and a RTX3050Ti???

Not a deal imo. Most of the laptop with similar specs can be found around $1,200-1,400 when not on sale and sub $1,000 when on sale.

    • This isn't a gaming laptop.

If so just give it a better screen and processor and dumbing down the dGPU to just an eGPU. Why bother with the half-baked RTX3050Ti?

You're aware that some people use GPUs for tasks other than gaming?

    • And a 1920x1080 screen, what a joke. My 13" Asus Zenbook ($1300) had the same spec in 2013.

  • It has Win 11 Pro, 1TB SSD, 2 x Thunderbolt 4 ports and 3 year warranty. Also fairly good weight at 1.6kg +
I'm not sure about the difference in performance compared with 13th Gen. To me it seemed like a good deal. Are there any cheaper alternatives you could suggest with similar specs?

Would have liked a RTX 4050 at this price point. The low TDP wouldn't be as big a deal with efficient Ada Lovelace architecture

    • Nvidia is pricing 4000 chips a good bit higher apparently. Yes newer is better, but newer is also more expensive.

While this laptop isnt my cup of tea, I think people need to realise this is not intended to be a gaming laptop. It's an Ultra thin laptop with dedicated graphics, hence the low wattage, the plentiful thunderbolt, etc. This thing isn't attempting to compete with Alienware, Acer Helios and other gaming laptops, its more likely trying to compete with Lenovo Thinkpads, Ideapads, Dell XPS, etc… all while being fairly cheap when doing so.

Again, not something that I am interested in, but it's important to note if you are looking to purchase the target market of the laptop when determining whether its the right thing for you.

Why do you think they went with the P processor instead of the H? Or is that pretty common in ultrabooks?

    • I agree this is not a gaming laptop. I compare this with laptops like Dell XPS15 or high-spec Inspiron 15, which may only come with integrated graphics, and cost a fair bit more. Especially with 1TB and 3yr warranty. I've always used Dell laptops at home, but wanted to try something else. I don't do any gaming but want a GPU to handle all graphics/screens without stressing the CPU.
