From Saturday, 6 May to Sunday, 21 May, selected animals will have their adoption fees reduced by 50%. Search through the hundreds of animals available for adoption right now.

    Just put in some random choices and prices range from $240-$290 after 50% off fyi. For dogs.

    I got my boy Chester from RSPCA in VIC, a pet is for life, and the best thing I ever did, he was hurt by his previous owners.

      Support the less sought after breeds instead of being so picky about designer dogs! The love and companionship will just be as much if not more. Plus you're not giving money to breeders but to an organisation that's trying to do some good.

        I agree we adopted our dog when he was 1.5 years old and he is the best we can ever have, He is now with us for more than 14 years now and he is un-sepratable

        I’ve heard it’s mistreatment / bad parenting of the dogs that makes them incompatible otherwise they are like any other dog? Not sure if this is true.

    I have a tangentially related question: how do people get american pitbull terriers into the country? i see them on gumtree getting sold by breeders from time to time, i thought they were banned?
    and how come they ban pitbulls but not staffies in aus? it's so arbitrary

        It's more that the American staffy association has lobbied hard to distance themselves from pit bulls and rebrand them as a "nanny dog" (of which is a completely fabricated claim which there is no evidence of other than a crummy picture), despite the fact that they are still pit breeds and still top the charts for fatal dog attacks against both humans and other dogs.
