Hi Ozbargainers,

I took a bit of heat last week from an Ozbargainer for constantly releasing Allergy Relief deals (noting that they are always the cheapest in Australia, some think they are a little overkill) so I thought I'd list a non medication bundle and see what the temperature from Ozbargainers is like on non-medication pharmacy items. If it works well I'll try to find other deals via wholesalers and reps, if it doesn't I'll stick to finding deals on ever popular over the counter medication. I understand that if its not the cheapest price in Australia for the item, it shouldn't be on Ozb so with that in mind, I'll only post deals for items I believe are at the best price available nationally.

Price for this item seems to range around the >$200 mark at retail pharmacies and on eBay, but CW have a similar model on clearance for click and collect at $100 with no refill pack and no delivery available so I think stock may be hard to get at that price for some at CW, so at $105 delivered with the 4x refills pack (usually worth >$20 delivered on its own) this is a ripper of a deal I think worthy of Ozbargain.

      The Pro 5000 is an extremely old (like 10 years+) model which uses NiMH battery. The new one is called Smart 5 5000 and it uses Li-ion battery. The realistic battery life is about 1 week while the new version seems to last forever.

      This model also uses rubbery skin which goes sticky/runny after a couple of years where as the new one doesnt.

      While the value is okay at this price point, I think the new pro 2 2000 is a much better choice.

    Are these margins sustainable for you? I'm hoping and guessing that it is, you've been my go-to for most OTC meds for a few years now, hope you expand to more categories found in brick and motar pharmacies.

      Thanks for the insightful question - I have been monitoring this, as it depends on whether clients add other items to the cart, continue to buy other medications at the same rate etc - so far its not looking good. The toothbrushes sold out (yay) but there were only 1 or 2 other items added to cart over many toothbrush sales and traditional sales (which are usually boosted by Ozb posts) slumped….I use Ozb as a volume tool to negotiate better wholesaler rates for items I sell instore/eBay etc - If the Ozb sales volume falls, I lose the ability to get those same products at a lesser price that can be sold for higher margins on other marketplaces, so I dont mind making 1/10th of nothing selling medication to Ozbargainers as it helps other areas of my business - its a very interesting dynamic, it was a 12 month trial I thought I'd run, but after a couple of years I'm still sticking with it - overall though, not sure if the additional work justifies the benefit, the verdict is still out (which I am guessing is why no other pharmacies promote on Ozbargain on a regular basis).

    received the item today but the spindle is DEAD will not power up at all.so put it to charge now, but this is NOT normal!

      After reading your comment, I opened my package which was delivered 09th,

      the package was not sealed & was full of dust (might be shelf display piece)

      the Spindle did not power up, so i put it on charge now
