  • Pretty sure I paid $900 for this when It came out, or something silly like that. What a deal (and the game is stunning).

    • Not far off. $750 for launch day PS5 (~40% off if trading in PS4 Pro to EBGames) and GOW: Ragnarok was $99 physical disc so $850.

You do not get physical disc with these bundles though, just a printed digital code.

Arguably should be much cheaper by now 2.5 years on but they did price hike the PS5 last August.

  • Wish it was a LE

    Should be sub $700

Can bring it down to ~$711 by buying 10% discounted Ultimate Everyone from coles this week catalogue.

      • Hey, where can I find the Ultimate Everyone from coles? Online or offline?

        Thanks!

Approaching year 3, now selling for more than original rrp.. amazing

    • +6

I know right… but at least you get a recent realese AAA title included.

      • +2

I don't really care for digital though lol. Would be more enticing if it was a special edition console/controller or normal console with physical game.

Been waiting so long for a good PS5 deal, I might as well wait for the PS5 Pro

    • +1

I reckon this wont happen soon, maybe by the end of 2025 !

    • +5

Yup or a slim. Not buying this monstrosity at above launch RRP.

      • Im just hoping the next PS5 can run AAA exclusives at 4K 60fps. Seems like most games run 4k @30fps (Quality mode) and upscaled 1080p-1440p @45-60fps (Performance mode).

  • dumb question - this has the disc drive on it right? the "Digital Edition" is the one that is drive-less?

    • correct

    • yes, although there were rumors there might be an "external drive" coming out at some point, but could be years from now.

    • +1

Yep… but the copy of God of War is a digital download code, so not as good as a disc copy of the game.

  • Prices for this generation seem stubbornly high - IMHO they started way too high and are still too high, but I guess there's plenty of demand?

    • +1

That and chip production costs are different to what they were in previous generations even without the shortages created by Covid.

Cost savings from miniaturisation are going to be comparatively diminished too so refresh models (certain Slim, questionable Pro) probably won’t cost less.

I feel like people don't talk enough about how the switch oled model is $540. That is insane for what's just a 6 year old console with a new hat

      • +1

It seems like every generation since the SNES Nintendo has appeared to start slowly and ended up absolutely printing money by the end of it. See also their online store game prices, which are completely ridiculous.

      • Especially when a Xbox Series S has been $399 at some point lol even at it's full $499 price thats a massive bargain tech wise compared to the Switch.

        • +1

Xbox has no exclusive games though compared to Nintendo, and the Series S locks you to the MS Store with no disk drive

        • series S also needs be play many games with lower graphics settings and/or lesser frames e.g. 30fps

the sdd storage is also very limited space.

      • +1

The Tegra X1 in the Switch was released in 2015.

2015 mobile phones were more powerful at the time.

      • Especially with years of tradeins on more powerful SoCs having occurred. Nintendo could do a Switch Plus of recycled/reclaimed hardware and still make bank.

        • that's not nintendo's way..

they don't compete on specs anymore..
instead they look for novelty or new plays of gaming.

          • @pinkybrain: It's not about competing… It's about selling more devices and encouraging second purchases from people who already own one, by making the upgrade attractive with quicker load times, better battery life, fancier screen etc.

    Wheres the ps5 slim

    • Bring it on the sneakers crew need some more stuff .

  • will buy when ps5 pro comes out

  • Now, is the PSVR2 worthwhile to buy this up?

  • Will the price of this Bundle will reduce further in the near future? any thoughts

  • Is this a good deal.. I am looking for buy one. is the ps5 pro will release sooner or is this worth buying now?

  • I reckon with Nintendo poor share performance they will switch Switch2 to early next yr release .
Hold your horses till then and make sure you get it as early as possible lol ;)

  • Sorry, can we ask to match the price from Amazon? Is that what you mean by this "Amazon also price matching(amazon.com.au)"
