ah… just paid $84 in ebay 3 days ago :(
should wait for a bit longer….

p.s: $10 delivery to VIC btw

  • no saving if add up postage, compared with Centrocom/Scorptec etc

  • just purchased 1 from SE for 79, lost $10!

Refund, then purchase this. Then, tomorrow, another all time low Evo Plus deal…

  • uggh just wish i had another nvme slot - probably not worth swapping out my 500gb for a 1tb

    • +4

I think we need another 10 NVMe slots.

    • M.2 to PCI-e x1/x4/8 adapter from amazon? I have a one in a x1 slot. Speeds are only ~600mb/s but its good enough for games

      • got a wireless card in there - no room unfortunately - dont want to do USB dongle wifi

Hopefully theres a SATA SSD deal soon

          • @jsediv: Im waiting patiently :P I see them and take too long to bite the bullet and miss out. But when NVME is the same price as SATA SSD its hard to buy SATA

            • @Fergy1987: How about NVME enclosure? Speed will be limited to 10Gbps for USB 3.1 Gen 2 but that's still faster than SATA.

  • Luckily got student beans discount last deal. Only paid 70 from ebay delivered. Thanks op nevertheless

got one from previous deal,, damm another low.. I think, keep buying and average out :)

  • how low can you go?, this is just like Bitcoin.

    • Unsure to laugh or cry looks at my crypto currency balances

      • +2

well by this logic - They need to be reduced by 80% off to match my crypto wallet

  • Amazon still quiet…

    • Amazon AU hasn't had stock for 2 months. (only available from 3rd party sellers)

They can't price match something they don't have.

  • wish we could get good deals like what we're seeing in the <=1TB market for higher density drives even if they are more expensive to make..

Need some 2tb around $160 and it would be an instabuy.

What about all the drama in Feb around the failures of these drives ? Have there been proven firmware updates that fixed the issues ? Because if I remember correctly Samsung had been pretty dodgy about detailing the issues / fixes / firmware updates / etc.

    • +2

Samsung in general make top tier drives. One particular model (one of their most popular) had a random bug, its not widespread and has now been patched.

  • 1TB in stock again but increased to $93
    2TB still $179

  • 1TB $69, 2TB $179
    2TB is 2.6 x the price of 1TB, this doesn't make sense

    • 1TB NAND chips might be more expensive than 500/512MB NAND chips to make on a $/GB metric. (As far as I can tell the 970 EVO Plus are single sided regardless of size).

    • Simple, SSD makers know people want 2TB and 4TB SSDs so no point doing fire sale on those yet.

  • Damn I paid $129 for a WD Black last month

    • Once you go black, I mean sn850x

  • Meh $12 shipping regional vic. Shopping express want $22 lol.

Centrecom it is with free shipping
