Now I dont think this constitutes a neg but you should be aware that Techfast's PC lead time can take a while.

    • haha love the name

That's just due to ambiguity in the name. It's not fast as in "quick", but as in "starve".

    • what is the lead time these days. I heard it would take a month so I never considered it and instead ordered elsewhere. Took like a week and was super smooth.

All the deals that can pop up while you wait 2 weeks and counting…

  • How does this compare to the AMD 5500 3060ti deal from Techfast?

    • An i5 12th gen would be slightly faster;

      • Thanks, what about the i312100F?

    • +1

12400F is faster than 5600 in synthetic and CPU-heavy workloads like video rendering, but it evens out in games because Alder Lake has a fairly small L3 cache. 12100F is a bit faster than 5500 (which due to being a 5600G with the iGPU disabled has half the L3 cache of a regular Zen 3 chip due to that space being used for the iGPU in the design), but its a Quad Core chip and can get outperformed in workloads that can make use of the extra 2 cores/4 threads.

Though in general, Zen 3 (Ryzen 5000) is a better platform than LGA1700 (12th/13th gen) at this price point, because of board prices. It doesn't really matter much for these Techfast builds because you're going to get something bottom of the line anyway, but AM4 boards are a fair bit cheaper than LGA1700 for the same feature set. Intel mainly pull ahead if you're looking into streaming casually, as you can get a non-F SKU (12100/12400) to have access to Intel QuickSync Video encoder, but that's not really applicable for this exact build obviously. I'd get the 5500 one over this, the performance difference is marginal, and it has a upgrade path to the 5800X3D. Cheap LGA1700 board don't have a power delivery section capable of handling anything more than the 12100F/12400F, and a lot of it is through using a stock cooler to give additional airflow to the VRMs, whereas you can drop in a 5800X3D into the A320M board on the 5500 build and it'll do fine.

      • Thanks for the detailed reply. I dont understand the a lot of it but get the idea….haha.

        • TL:DR: For gaming 5600 ~= 12400F > 12100F > 5500. But the 5500 build has upgrade options, and the 12100F doesn't.

    • Regarding i5-12400F system…

If you are NOVICE-buyer with only $1K to spend, & want to game @ 1080p ULTRA-setting with 60+ fps in ANY-games then i5-12400F is a serious contender.
Also, your system good chance of being current as you head toward your 2nd year of ownership.

See link below & search for my comments, being
1.TF’s ‘low-tier’ parts are good quality & do the job. NO overclocking.
2.Leaper Maverick White case has good air flow, aesthetically pleasing & not-cheap.
3.1080p is 'immersive gaming' experience: no need to game @ 1440p/4K, except ‘enthusiast’ minority with bigger $.

  • I ordered the April deal on the last day of April. Emailed them when the May deal popped up to upgrade the ssd to an M.2 for the extra $10. Received my pc yesterday. YMMV, but I went in expecting it to be 14 business day lead time (3 calendar weeks) + 1 week shipping so anything before that is a bonus.

    • Similar boat here. I ordered the April deal and upgraded the SSD to M2, then saw the May deal. I got my PC shortly after and have emailed their support on top of PMing one of the people here and haven't heard back.

  • I ordered from their last deal around lunchtime Saturday (7th) and just got a shipped notification today.

  • I don't need a GFX card :(

  • It's only a few more weeks and we should be seeing a lot of EOFY deals
