Some great Dyson vacuum deals to be had from Amazon Italy today. These are other models than in my previous post from Amazon Germany so this is great who missed out last time when the models on offer were not the ones they wanted.
Also the Samsung Navibot vacuum is available and a great Bosch food processor with lots of accessories.

For this one post I have put affiliate links for each deal.
Please use them if you find the deals useful and appreciate the effort put into posting them. You will not pay more so it will not reduce your bargain at all. Amazon Italy will pay me a couple of bucks for drawing your attention to the deals so using the afifliate links will only reduce their profit margin, not your bargain margin!

Here are the Dyson deals (use Google Translate or Chrome to read the pages):

Have fun shopping. Maybe you can get a nice vacuum cleaner for Father's day. ;-)

  • Does the VAT exemption apply for all European countries, even UK?

  • +2

Yes, I do believe so. However, each country's Amazon site determines on its own which products it ships to Australia and which products it does not. So, for example, just because the DC37 can be shipped to Australia from Amazon Italy does not mean the same is possible if buying the same item on Amazon UK.
Also, not many businesses take off the Vat when posting to Australia. Fortunately, Amazon does.

    • thank you!!

  • What sort of power plug they use in italy?

  • Thanks OP, Grabbed two. Was looking to get an all in one food processor for the Wife and Mum but couldn't find any for a good price. Two units cost me 507 Euro which works out less than AUD$300 each

  • +1

You're a legend with your deals mate. Thanks!

  • Anyone know anything about the various models? Looking for something for a 2-3 bedroom unit. Current $99 cleaner not doing the job…

    Cheers

    • +1

Just use Amazon.com or www.amazon.co.uk to look at what these models feature and can do. In my opinion any of those Dyson would do for a 2-3 bedroom unit. If your floor is nice and even and relatively tidy, then the Samsung Navibot would do fine, too. You could program it to vacuum every day half an hour before you come home from work - all nice and clean then. All you need to do is empty out the dirt. If you have a small cat it would als get a joyride every day - some cats love to sit on the vacuums and ride with them.

    • I have the DC29 for a two bedroom unit - works really well. It's small enough to store in a wall cupboard. Dismantles well - and the suction is pretty sucky.

  • +1

These are great deals and all but What about the the warranty? Do we get any and who covers it?

  • +3

You will get the warranty stipulated by law which is either 1 year or 2 years (more likely to be 2 in line with other EU countries). Additionally, for some of the Dysons a 5 year fully comprehensive warranty is provided. Amazon will pay you back for return shipping. Also, coming from Europe over here I brought many gadgets with me. They rarely had issues and when they did I contacted the manufacturer and explained I had moved here - they were quite flexible in honouring their warranty.
The warranty provided by law in Italy is at least as long as in Australia - that is for sure. If you are worried, buy with a credit card that gives you additional warranty.

    • Wow Gallfrey, I really appreciate the quick response and very informative, thank you heaps. Now I'm just trying to decide which one to buy, Oh and I'll make sure I use your affiliate link too :) Cheers Doctor, fish fingers & custard all the way!

  • No problem and thank you.

  • ordered a BOSCH MUM56430 + Nespresso EN520S last Friday from Amazon Italy and received yesterday :)
    Super fast shipping!

  • Anyone have comments on the Navibot? Does it do a good job? Looks like it can't be too powerful based on size, does it clean as well as a full sized vacuum cleaner, or is it more like a dustbuster?

    • +1

I have not seen one in action yet but my mum syas our neighbour has one and he is very happy with it. Based on that it must be pretty good as our neighbour is very critical and precise being a chemist with his own company who develops formulae for car manufacturers worldwide. I guess you have to be - otherwise you blow up.
Also I have read quite a few reviews as we are looking to get one for my sister in Europe. It seems they are pretty good and clean well and are indeed a fairly good subsitute for a full size vacuum (especially if you program it to vacuum daily!).

      Have a quick read here:

      http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-SR8855-NaviBot-Robotic-Clean…

      • Thanks for your efforts! I may just have to get one :)

  • Hey Gallifrey thank you for your wonderful contribution, just to clarify, Dyson should be able to honour the 5 yrs warranty over in Australia is this correct? I was after the Dyson DC42, if I paid via credit card I should be entitlted to 5 yrs Warranty by Dyson Aus?

Thanks again! I will be using your affliated link btw.

    • Please check that with Dyson just to make sure. The way I understand the warranty it would be yes but please confirm before you buy.
I never had problems with companies before.
Also, given what the EU stands for I am certain that it is reasonable to assume that people easily move between countries.
Furthermore, countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal etc do not have their own Amazon site but are refered to one of the other sites (often the UK site). I think if the manufacturers did not honour their warranty for customers in the Netherlands for example because they bought from Amazon.co.uk it is fair to assume that there would have been a revolt already.
But please check with Dyson (ask them whether they would honour the warranty on a product you bought while living in Europe and brought back here). I am sure if you tell Dyson Australia that you just saved a lot of money by not buying from them they won;t be too happy and will be a bit grumpy.
Contact Dyson in the UK. They are the ones who can give the best advice.

Personally, in my experience Dyson are excellent and hardly fail. And as I said before, there is Italian warranty (in other posts people confirm that Amazon refunds the postage), and if you use a good credit card there will be warranty provided by the card manufacturer. I have bought TVs, a PS3 etc. from Europe and never had a problem. With the savings on the PS3 I could have bought 2 for the price of 1 in Australia and put one away unopened for when the first one breaks sometime in the future. I think there is little risk and given the prices it is worth taking it.
And thank you for using the affiliate link if you buy.

  • Great. Seems shipping from Europe is fast, regardless of where it originates.

  • Nice post. Just in case anybody is considering the DC29 or DC33, there is a bonus redemption offer from Dyson Australia (available at 'participating stores') where you can get a bonus turbine head for the DC29 or a bonus car clearning kit for the DC33 supposedly worth $129. Since Australian prices can be around the $400 mark for the DC 29, you may be able to get quite a good deal here too.

    http://media.dyson.com/downloads/AU/floorcare/AUGUST_PROMO_R…

    • Looking more closely, the DC29 on amazon.it is an older yellow model DC29. The newer model "DC 29 multi floor" is white (http://www.dyson.com.au/store/product.asp?product=DC29-MULTI…). The newer model has a HEPA filter whereas the older doesn't.

      • Addressed the issue you mentioned by including two more DC29 models with HEPA filter. Also added the DC24 all floor.

        • Thanks for the two extra models, I'm not sure how to compare these models as none of them are listed on Dyson Australia's site. It looks like even Dyson UK is only listing the old yellow one for DC29, marked as end of line. (http://www.dyson.co.uk/Vacuumcleaners/BrowseTheRange.aspx?fi…).

I'm actually not looking to buy one, since I already have the DC 29 multi floor. I'm very happy with it, hence the interest in Dyson deals.

        • Yes, companies love doing that. Same for Bosch products such as washig machines, mixers etc. Slightly different model number so it is hard to compare. Sometimes though they are lazy and just mark the model AU at the end. ;-)
Good to hear you are happy with your Dyson. Seems to be very good quality then.

        • Found a Dyson site where some of them are listed. It is the German site. I noticed that on the Amazon Italy site it states the manufacturer as Dyson GmbH which is a German corporation form. Hence I checked the German site and some were listed there.

          http://www.dyson.de/store/hmc.asp

  • Might also be worth checking whether optional accessories for the vacuum of your choice are a good price and whether they can be shipped to Oz. Just a thought.

  • If I google translate Amazon.it will its scripts screw up my ordering process?

Also which vacuum cleaner has the best suction of all those?

And are the prices listed on the main page with VAT included, which is then removed at checkout?

    • +1

Do not about your first question. I guess not as other people have not asked this. Also, maybe open a second window with the US or UK Amazon site. Layout is virtually identical so you know what is happening.

As for question number two, maybe read the descriptions on the UK Amazon site - or maybe somebody more knowledgeable can answer that.

As for number three - that one I can answer. The prices I listed are the prices you pay including delivery. The prices on the webpage include VAT and exclude delivery. VAT is then removed and postage added before submitting your order.

      Hope that helps.

  • For the DC37, seems this deal was a lot better?

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/76028

    • +1

There are several model variations for the DC37. The one in the link is the Origin, the ones in this post are the Allergy Ball and Allergy Parquet Ball. They are slightly different vacuums with different features.
I did check on the Spanish site for some of the models and they were more expensive than in Italy.
Also, keep in mind that Amazon recently changed its shipping policies and now in general charge more for shipping.

      • +1

What's the difference between Allergy Ball and Allergy Parquet Ball? I assume the Parquet is better?

You seem a very helpful person. I am seriously considering buying one, I just am having difficulty deciding which one. It's either going to be 29 or 37, but they come in so many variations it's confusing. I assume 37 is better, but I'm trying to find out if it's "better enough" to justify the increased price tag.

I'll use your affiliate link when I've decided.

I think prices may have been adjusted since.

DC29 Allergy (with the HEPA filter)
        http://amzn.to/Rf8hhU (affiliate link)
        http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B004VCWB64/ref=ox_sc_act_tit… (non-affiliate link)
        Price: $356 delivered

Dyson Allergy Parquet dB DC29 (with the HEPA filter)
        http://amzn.to/NkIOxx (affiliate link)
        http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B004VCWB6E/ref=ox_sc_act_tit… (non-affiliate link)
        Price: $312 delivered

You've got the Parquet cheaper than Allergy, but the links to both pages have the Parquet costing more, unless the % tax or shipping charges are different for each item.

Is the HEPA filter difficult to clean?

Also, is it cheaper to pay in AUD or pay in EUR and have the bank convert it? When you got your AU prices, did you do the conversion yourself or go by Amazon's AUD rate?

        • For some reason the shipping for the Parquet is 35 Euro while the shipping for the other one is more than that. I cannot really see any other explanation. I just take the price they show me and then convert it. If they make a mistake in that they charge low shipping, that's good and welcome for us.

I cannot really say which one is better. Depends on your need. I would think that both will do they job just fine unless you leave in a palace in which case I would suggest you let your maid decide or just buy the strongest one with the largest capacity. ;-)

Seriously, it is a matter of preference. The Parquet comes with a special pipe or nozzle for parquet. The price is almost the same - the difference above is the shipping as mentioned.
I guess you might as well but the Parquet one as apart from the extra special nozzle they seem to be the same. On the Dyson Germany page the price difference is 20 Euro (lloked at the difference between DC37 Allergy and DC37 Allergy Parquet - fair to assume the DC29 is the same regarding the differences)(which is for the extra nozzle). Have a look at their page with Google Translate to help you decide.

          http://www.dyson.de/store/hmc.asp

I think going with the cheaper one is fine (especially since you seem to get something extra with it, too.).
Also, if you want extra accessories in the future, have a look around on the page. They are likely to be cheaper in Italy than in Australia and with VAT and combined shipping they should be even cheaper.
Update: Amazon does not have many they sell directly so forget that idea.

As regards the HEPA filter - I cannot say really but I would not think it is difficult to clean. Considering the millions of people that have a Dyson one would have heard about it by now. I guess it is just a matter of taking it out, emptying it and freeing it from the dirt by shaking or blowing etc. Do not worry - I am certain you can do it.

As regards payment, I normally pay in Euro and have the bank convert it as with amounts that are not just 10 Euro the better rate will make up for the $6 or so they charge for using the card abroad.

The prices I stated are what Amazon told me in Euro and I then took that Euro amount (rounded up or down to the nearest Euro) and used www.oanda.com to get the Australian price.

          Hope that helps.

hi there, just wondering, what is the different between DC29 Allergy (with the HEPA filter) and Dyson Allergy Parquet dB DC29 (with the HEPA filter), thank you before for all the answer

    • Please see above.
Looking the corresponding DC37 models the difference seems to be the extra nozzle for Parquet floors.
Other than that the models seem to be the same. So if you have parquet floor or similar go for that one for sure. And even if you do not given the Parquet is cheaper due to lower postage for some reason, go for that as as you will get the extra nozzle just in case.
Also, before you order, browse any accessories you might want in the near future. Might be worthwhile ordering them now as they are likely to be cheaper there than in Oz plus VAT is taken off in Italy making them even cheaper. Also combined postage is advantageous.
Update: Amazon does not have many they sell directly so forget that idea.

Hopefully this gives you a better idea.

Which one is the best for removing pet fur?

I'm looking at the DC29 or the DC37, but is the extra cost worth it for the DC37?

    • For pet fur, any with the turbine head. If they don't come with the turbine head you can always buy it separately. The turbine head is great for everything.

      • agreed turbine head is a must, but you do have to take the head apart and clean it every so often, go for the DC37 more power would be worth it in the long run, the DC29 looks very small would need emptying more often

    • The DC37 has Radial Root Cyclone Technology and the DC29 has Root Cyclone Technology. Presumably the DC37 technology is a bit more advanced and powerful but that's just a guess.

The full size turbine head for the DC29 costs $105 delivered in OZ.

  • This will goes good with my broom from reject shop.

  • All we need now is some Miele specials!

    • Here you go:

      Miele S762: $296 delivered

      Miele S381: $228 delivered
      Miele S2111: $173 delivered

Miele Cat and Dog 5000: $370 delivered

Do you think it is worthwile posting those?

  • Read most of the posts, but have no idea if its covered in here, will i need some sort of voltage converter/step-up/step-down attatchment to make this work?
Don't know much about vacuums, only that our current one sucks (ha..), what would be the best choice if the budget was $350 for a 4 bedroom, 2 living room place that has both carpet and timber flooring with stairs?

    • No, just a plug adaptor for a couple of bucks. Voltage is the same in Europe as in Australia.
If it is to be a Dyson, for the budget you can have the Dyson DC29 Allergy Parquet for $312 or the DC24 All floors for $345.
At around lunchtime I will be posting some Miele, Siemens, and Numatic vacuum deals in case you want any of them.

  • +1

Grabbed the DC29 Parquet. My apologies to Gallifrey, I was going to follow your referral thingy, but got too excited and bought it. (Yes, I got excited over a vacuum cleaner, so what)

  • The manuals in these vaccuums have English right?

    • +1

Probably multilanguage as with most devices nowadays. If not, they are easy to get on the internet.

  • After much research into which model to get, finally took the plunge and got one! Thank you so much Gallifrey for the information!! Much appreciated!!

    • Your welcome. May you have a long and happy relationship with your Dyson. :-)

  • I'm thinking of getting the DC37 Allergy Parquet Ball. How much does normally cost in Australia? Does it do wood and carpet?

    • +1

The price set by Dyson in Germany is 489 Euro. There you can find all the features, too.

      http://www.dyson.de/store/hmc.asp

In Australia I know that the price for the DC38 Multifloor which is $769 AUD. The Parquet is particularly well suited for parquet floor, wooden and laminate floors as it comes with an extra nozzle for those surfaces.
I do not think you could do anything wrong buying this model (given the life-long filter, the power, built quality, extra nozzle).
It was product of the year in Germany.

      • Is there the animal version of the D37 for sale? The german site lists it but your links don't have it?

      • and can the D37 Parquet Ball work well on carpet as well despite specialising in wooden floors?

  • Hello everybody, just curious - have you all received your items yet?
I am just curious for information as it would help for future queries by people on how long items (here; vacuums, so reasonably big items) take to ship on average.

  • +1

Are there any prices & links for the "stick" handhelds - the DC44 Animal, the DC35 Animal, and the DC35 Mulitfloor?
