$215 store credit when it ships, plus 10% back

Lets simplify the process and sell it to me for $500 😌

  • +1

Could be a decent kitchen device, although an expensive one!

    • I was thinking the same thing! It would be perfect, but the price… goodness me

    • +1

Overkill for a kitchen display. Get a Google Hub.

      • Does the google hub have full chrome with tabs etc? That's why I didn't get it. When we do recipes, we have multiple tabs open on my surface.

  • +1

Are the student beans and Google one discount stackable?

    • +1

The google one 10% is not a direct discount, you only get 10% of the purchase as store credit once the order is received.

You will get the 10% on the discounted price. E.g. 80$ if you buy the tablet with the unidays discount code.

Not sure how much this is worth it with Google One, given that you have to stay subscribed to Google One until you get the Tablet, so you will need to pay for 2 months for sure.

      • I think you have to stay on Google One until you spend the credit too?

        • +2

Nope, once the credit has been added to your account, you can go back to a cheaper option and/or cancel completely.

  • +21

will be cheaper in november, this will not sell well

example pixel buds pro $299 and now $150

    • +1

I couldn't find anywhere if this is 120hz or just 60hz.
      It's underwhelming for the price.

      • -3

        90hz

        • +1

Can't find any references to 90hz, Engadget say 60hz.

      • +4

It's also LCD. This is a budget tablet device designed for light use and kitchen use.

        • +3

I also think anyone that would use the dock mode already has a nest hub, making the dock sort of redundant.
If they sold a version without the dock I might have considered it at 699 if the screen was at least 120hz but 899 for 60hz IPS is sad.

        • Will it work on the toilet?

    • Where did you see them at $150 ???

      • Optus, search for the deal here. It is in stock again I think

        • woow I missed this one, thanks mate.

    • +1

Yeah it will definitely go on sale, but personally getting it for the equivalent of $500~ here (as I'm planning on buying the pixel 8, so that $215 credit is as good as cash to me) is a great deal and I don't see it being $500 in November.

  • -5

To be honest Tensor chips are useless as comprare the snapdragon.

    • +1

      ok

  • +4

    It’s sold at USD500 versus AUD899.
I might wait for a while for the price drop.

    • This!
I don't understand. the pixel 7a is sold at US499 as well, but the AU price is way more expensive for the tablet AU749 vs AU899, why?

is there more taxes on tablet in australia or we just get fuqued?

      • +3

The US price is without considering any local taxes. Australian prices are including GST.

        • Australia also has a free trade agreement with China while the US does now. Shouldn't that mean chinese made products should be cheaper here?

          • +2

@ialam99: Equivalent of GST in US is sales tax. Price in USD is excluding US Sales tax which differs by state. AID price is inclusive of 10% GST.

    • +4

Well, if you convert USD 499 to AUD, its AUD 740 as per the Mastercard rate today. Add 10% GST, its AUD 814. Considering that, the price offered today seems apples to apples comparison which is very rare

      • +5

the pixel 7a is sold for $AU749, and the pixel tablet for $AU899, but there are both sold at $499 in the US.

        • I am only talking about the tablet here as that is the deal. I agree with what you said but a 10% pre-order discount on the tablet brings it closer to what the price should be. US price is without any local taxes FYI. Australian price is including GST.

        • +2

It would be a volume thing. They would sell more Pixel 7a then tablets.

    • Why do they have be the same?

  • +1

Looks like the Forum post for Unidays code is gone, where might I go looking for the codes

  • Does anyone have a spare code!
    Thanks.

  • Don't know that I'd buy this over, say, a Tab s7 with the better screen, snapdragon cpu and s-pen.

    • -2

G2 is much better than 750G in S7

      • Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ in tab s7

      • Think that's s7 fe

        • Don't think so… s7 and s7+ had Snapdragon 865+. fe had Snapdragon 750G/778G 5g/wifi.

Sorry misunderstood… You were commenting against the 750G comment not the 865+ comment.

  • Could credit be used to pay for future cloud storage?

    • +1

Nope, it's Google Store credit. You'll need to buy a product/accessory with it.

  • +2

DM me for a code :), Please mention the product

  • Would've been a good mid-tier tablet if it were just a tablet priced at $599.

  • Any idea if the 10% credit with Google One would work with an India/Turkey etc. subscription?

    • No, only works on physical items from the Google Australia store

    • +1

Yes, I got Google credit with my Turkey subscription buying from the Australian online store.

      • Is it shown explicitly on check-out? I just subscribed to Google One Turkey but there is no visible mention of credit at check-out. I'm wondering if it's normal or if I should wait a few days before putting in the purchase.

        • Did you subscribe to the 2TB plan?
After you subscribe to Turkey. Make sure you change your account or payment profile to Australia. Just add an Australian adress and card payment.

You will see a banner that you will receive a 10% credit when purchasing from Google store Australia.

  • Also am looking for a code for anyone who can help out, thanks all!

  • Greatly appreciated if anyone has a spare code. Thank you πŸ™

  • There hasn't been any focus on the Hub mode. Is it like a smart display or simply a tablet with an always-on screen?

  • If anyone could DM me a code I'd appreciate it!

  • +2

This is such a joke of a product. It's an overpriced android tablet. I mean you can get a reasonable phone or laptop at the same price.

    • Yeah it's funny how people always expect tablets to be cheaper than phones but they are essentially the same thing.

Like this is basically a pixel 7 but they saved a bit on the camera hardware and spent a bit more on the screen, battery and dock… Yet it retails for $100 less than a pixel 7. I know we all wanted this to be $500 but I guess that was unlikely with the weak Aud at the moment.

      • +1

Well this tablet is WiFi only and has a crap screen and the camera is inferior to the pixel phones.
The only thing this has that the pixel phones don't is the dock.

        • I literally listed the changes, it also has a bigger battery and it's a big call to say it's got a "crap screen" when literally all we know is the resolution, size and refresh rate.

    • -1

That's great except from the fact that there's no smartphones that exist with a 10" screen, and no laptops that run Android.

      • Laptops run any OS you want. Go for a Unix OS and you basically have your android. Or use BlueStacks if you really want to emulate the limited mobile experience. I like a good tablet but this seems like a portable smart home hub.

  • Anyone with a spare code I could use? Thank you in advance

  • -5

I’d be wary of these lemons. Had a Google home hub max. Never moved from its spot and one day after an update it just stopped working. Dodgy firmware update probably send out deliberately to brick it. Never going to waste money on this junk again

Just note that if you use any Google store credit you already have to buy anything on the Google store, The 10% store credit will only apply on the balance amount.

  • +1

The contrast and brightness. No Dolby support. The 15w wireless charging (seriously..?) LCD of random quality.

What is this product for? Is this googles answer to Amazon Show 15? Who is this product for?

    • +1

Those who want a pixel tablet, google is trying to build an ecosystem like apple.

The is comparable is price and specs to the entry level current generation iPad, except this comes with a speaker dock, which may be quite useful for some.

It's not the dirt cheap nexus 7 style tablet some may have wanted from Google, but it's got 5 years of software support and (hopefully) a high quality screen and build quality. I guess we'll have to wait for reviews on that.

  • +3

    the WACKING $139 case…..

  • i have google hub max for my kitchen, it was amazing.! but for this price….. just too much!

Will wait till drop to 4xx or clearance

  • +2

case for this is another $139…no thanks

  • +2

Let's s all not buy it on launch date and it will be $309 off soon

  • I paid almost $1000 for the Pixel C with it's magnetic metal keyboard.

Still going. I'd like to say still going strong but it's a little slow these days. Battery is still surprisingly good though for a 2015 tablet.

Hoping this new one lasts as well. I will be buying it for sure but not pre-order. I'd like to see if some better deals pop up first. I can wait and keep using the C for now.

Sure, it's pricey but if the quality is there I would generally pay more for the product.

  • Do google store pricematch? I am interested in getting a nest camera and thinking of using the store credit for it and officeworks is almost always cheaper than the google store.

  • Seems like a good replacement for a google hub max but the price is a bit much considering the tablet sucks.

  • anyone hook me up with a code please

  • Do you still get the 10% google credit if your google account is set to turkey?

    • I will like to know as well. thanks

  • Do Google charge your card immediately for pre-order or at the time they ship it?

  • +1

when tablet is off the dock you cannot even use the speaker/dock to play music. makes no sense and hopefully this will be coming later with updates

  • Does anybody have a spare code please? πŸ™
