Key Features

  • Battle with up to seven characters: Like in previous Xenoblade Chronicles games, battles start by facing enemies directly in the field. Players can control Noah’s party of six as well as additional characters they’ll meet during the adventure. Each character has their own role in battle, which allows for diverse strategies.
  • Class change: Noah is a Swordfighter, specializing in close range attacks, while Mio is a Zephyr, drawing enemy attention while evading their strikes. Thus, each character has their own class with their own strengths. Progressing in the adventure, players can change characters’ classes, creating a customised party.
  • New Interlink system: Each of the tag-team pairs, Noah and Mio, Lanz and Sena, Eunie and Taion can make use of the Interlink system if certain conditions are met. They will then combine into a giant form called Ouroboros. Each Ouroboros has its own powerful move set, and deciding

Great price for a fantastic game, and the DLC that came out recently was a banger too.

I just finished the main story a few weeks back, need to get the DLC at some point.

It's well worth it, especially if you finished XB1 & 2. Ties the story of the trilogy up nicely and decently meaty, took me around 18 hours to finish it doing the odd sidequest here and there.

        • +1

Finished XB1, but not 2 yet. Found the combat hard to get into, although I will finish it one day….

          • +1

@ozb88: How far did you get into 2?

Admittedly the combat did start off VERY slow, I hated it at the start but as you unlock things in the affinity chart it definitely gets way more fun.

            • +1

@mangobango: Not too far, maybe 12-ish hours in. Was enjoying the story so far, but had no idea what I was doing combat-wise.

        • 1&2 are pretty much a prerequisite for Future Redeemed. I can't imagine how confused someone would be if they haven't played them first.

          • +1

@dano: Yeah it wraps up the whole trilogy so it's pretty necessary to play the others. You could still get by just finished XB3 though but there'll be a few things going over your head.

        • Wait only 18 hours? I was expecting (and dreading) another 50+ hour romp. Does the story feel more concise this time?

          • +1

@Vanit: Definitely, it wraps up the trilogy and gives a really good ending to it all without feeling like it's dragging or anything so the story was great.

            Perfect length imo.

    • I found this game to be actually one of their worst, but the DLC is making up for it.

  • Is this also the in-store price as well?

    • Yes and until 14-May only, from the newsletter.

got a 10 dollar voucher for my bday month might use it for this

        • For May bday? I just checked and i havent gotten one for mine yet it seems

  • Absolute treat of a game, and yeah the DLC was super enjoyable as well. Can't wait to see where the saga goes next. Anyone on the fence should absolutely give this a try.

  • Still don't understand why Xenoblade 2 is so rare compare to 1&3..was it not that popular back then?

    • It was highly disliked because of how different it was to 1, mainly because 2 was more of an Anime romcom type story. Combat also felt very slow at first so people returned it after about 10 hours in and they just hated the protagonist, but that's just what it's like with Anime romcom's so I can't really blame them. Oh and can't forget about the censoring in 2 for the Western copies.

    • 2 is rare in Australia but I found it at every game store in Korea last month around the 70$ mark.

    • It was popular back then, it's the best selling game in the series after all. It just seems like they stopped printing copies for some reason.

  • Does XB2/3 share the same gameplay and battle mechanics as XB1?

    • all systems different

  • Thanks OP, this is a bloody good deal!

  • Has anyone played this without first playing XB1 and XB2?

  • Ugh.. too combatty for me. I tried so hard, but I don't like combat.
