The only Cashback from shop back that ever tracks for me…

    • +6

Yep, and their support is a joke. Most recently they rejected my cashback even though I had screenshots of me in their app checking out (I did this to limit the chances of a failed cashback tracking).

“we regret to inform that your missing Cashback claim for (x) has been rejected.”

Cashrewards is my go to where possible.

      • +7

Literally the opposite of my experiences.
I purposely clicked through to a store on cashrewards with an ad blocker on, got the ad blocker notification and then deleted the ad blocker from my device. I then force closed the cashrewards app, clicked through to the store again, didn’t get the ad blocker notification, made an order and they rejected it for having an ad blocker on.

Sure, ShopBack’s customer support is very slow and sometimes tedious, but I’ve gotten A LOT of cashback from them compared to nothing from cashrewards

        • +5

They both give me headaches constantly, I am using no vpn, no ad blockers, nothing in the cart or on my wishlist, no non affiliated links etc etc. About 70% of things track on both. But the other 30% are annoying and they both tend to hope you will forget to chase it up.

          • +2

@beastontheroad: I’d say 98% of my SB purchases track correctly, then 1% each of not tracking and tracking at wrong amounts.
Haven’t had any issues once I follow up with them, in fact a couple of times they’ve honoured the transaction even if they can’t verify it with the store (after comparing click history, invoices I’ve sent them and a few small details, of course)

            • @linkindan: It’s good your experience has been positive, but definitely differs to my own.

This was their last response: “ I totally understand your frustration over this matter however, once the missing Cashback request is declined, the store partner's decision is final”.

This is despite having invoices and screenshots of checking out whilst in the ShopBack app. It wasn’t an insignificant amount. I sent multiple emails and even contacted @gotyourback on here. No success.

              • @SydEP: Hey mate, sorry to hear this has been rejected for you, approval for these claims does have to come from the merchant based on whether they attributed the purchase to us, but I'm happy to try and escalate these kinds of issues for you where possible.

                • +1

@gotyourback: As mentioned in earlier emails to another member of your team, with the evidence I already provided, it makes no sense how the sale could not have been attributed to ShopBack. It’s either a failure of the app or an issue with the merchant. I was clearly using ShopBack as the affiliate partner. I met my end of the cash back requirements … ShopBack have not met theirs.

                  • @SydEP: Hey mate, yeah my point is that it seems this has broken down on the merchant's side as it sounds like they've not attributed the purchase to us in error. I am always happy to do what I can to help escalate issues like this where I can, so do reach out if I can assist here.

                    • @gotyourback: It's definitely worth feeding my experience back to the appropriate person, as the breakdown, wherever it occurred, reflects poorly on ShopBack. I've given up on chasing my cash back, which I am still disappointed about, but if the error can be identified it may save others missing out on $. I appreciate that you're always very responsive on here, you are a valued member of the OzB community. Cheers.

                      • @SydEP: I support @gotyourback, he does whatever he can to keep customers happy. Thanks to both - himself and Ozbargain. 😊

                        • @rehan770: Thanks for the support! Happy to do what I can always for the community.

                      • @SydEP: Will do, mate, thanks for the honesty and feedback with me, it's always appreciated.

    Everyone…. No Amazon…

    • Ultimate Everyone is kinda decent in it's own ways.

This works with JB/TGG/OW/EB Games. So the "buying power" on electrics/gadgets etc is almost as good as actual money.

with JB perk discount, price match (even better - beat the price by 5% with OW), this could be a very sweet way to get discount.

  • +1

    Max 1?

    • Max 2 per denomination.

  • +3

Looking for amazon and bunnings… spent all my other i for earlier and had stopped doing the deals because i had to many now there isn't any!

  • +3

    Yeah WTB Amazon and Ebay!!

  • +3

Time to buy tickets for Fast and Furious :)

  • +2

Got two movie tickets! Thanks OP

  • Limit of two for each denomination.

  • +2

Just bought $100x2 Ultimate Everyone. They're prepaid Visa card so it's tricky to use up all the balance. You have the option to exchange it to selected eGift cards https://exchangeyourcard.com.au/ but the range is very limited (No OW, JB, TGG, Menulog) compared to the quite extensive list of supported brands in OP's table.

    • -1

Nope . Keep them above $2 and many utility provides take them with as many multiples as you pls.

      • +4

Can you elaborate? I thought they're supposed to be used at selected stores only?

      • +3

Just be careful doing this. I cleared out 4-5 cards with small balances into my Globird account and had my online payments option locked because they got flagged as suspicious transactions.

Had to call them and explain what happened and they pretty much told me off for using prepaid cards on my account but unlocked online payments again after that.

    • Is it possible to load the loose changes in time zone? Say $1.20? If not they will at least take $1 and lose the cents?

      • You can have custom number, but all brands require min $20 except H&M is $5.

    • Hi, If the "Ultimate Everyone" is a prepaid Visa card, then how is it still restricted to only certain retailers? Is the server able to restrict the use of the Visa card to only the selected brands/shops?

      • I don't know how it's restricted to certain brands. I've never used such card.

I only know they can restrict it to certain MCC - Merchant Category Code like the Restaurant Choice gift card is also a virtual Visa card, which can be used at almost any restaurant, cafe, fastfood, etc.

I guess the participating brands, each has a specific merchant code and this prepaid Visa card is configured to only be accepted when the merchant code is matched?

      • +2

I am fairly sure Blackhawk Network look at unique identifiers in the EFTPOS terminal or the payment gateway you are using to determine whether you are at a participating retailer.

The reason I suspect this is the case, because of previous conversations that indicated that changing an EFTPOS terminal means that the participating retailer must tell Blackhawk Network of the change in the EFTPOS terminal, otherwise Ultimate gift cards cannot be used through that new EFTPOS terminal.

    • +1

I guess the "almost unusable" small balance is how the gift card makes money? How many people get caught with, say, $1.90 left on the card and unable to use up this balance?

I'm wondering how many retailers allow a split payment (using more than 1 credit card for a purchase)? I know that Coles does, but not Aldi (I know that this gift card can't be used at supermarkets—-just an example!). Do JB Hifi and OfficeWorks allow split payments?

      • +2

I think the only "possible" workaround is to firstly use the Ultimate Everyone to buy JB HiFi, KOGAN or other branded gift cards on the respective retailer website.

  • No Ebay :(

  • +1

Thanks, bought 2 tickets. If i want to buy 2 more is there a limit on how many transactions IE is the 20% just for the first purchase or multiple times?

  • +1

Meh, good if you need it now and can make $100 denominations work, but I'd rather wait for variable load so i don't have to mess around with small remaining balances.

    • The real deal is to use Coles PMC or Vanilla here before leave it unused for too long to be hacked.

  • Got excited but then no amazon or ebay :(

  • Can this Event Cinemas GC stack with Tuesday half price or other promotions like from mynrma?

    • Was thinking the same thing. Do you know what the current best deal/stack is for movie tickets?

    • +1

Event Cinemas gift cards do stack with Tuesday half price but these vouchers (currently 20% cash back) do not, these like NRMA are prepaid vouchers not a set value.

  • +1

    Great, thanks OP
    Got 2 x $100 :)

  • -2

Depending on what store you want to use it at, you might be better off just buying it 10% off and not having to worry about it tracking.

    • Because these are purchased directly via ShopBack there’s pretty much never tracking issues

    • -1

Funny, why worry about tracking, it's got tracked within a second.

  • Can I use this to buy jb hi fi gift card

    • +1

You can convert it to a JB Hifi gift card.

      • Cannot find JB HI-FI in the exchange page.

        • This question has been answered multiple times. Click product link above to view old topics.

    • +3

      Maybe.

      • If you go through the JB Hi-Fi website, it may or may not let you purchase a JB Hi-Fi gift card if you directly enter the Ultimate Everyone gift card into the credit/debit card section of the checkout. It really depends on whether Riskified - JB Hi-Fi’s third-party tool for reviewing the likelihood of a transaction being fraudulent - will let you do this. If it lets you purchase one gift card, it should let you purchase a second gift card using a second different Ultimate Everyone gift card on the same day, but it will block you from making a third purchase on the same day.

      • If you go through the JB Hi-Fi website on an Apple device and then pay via Apple Pay (ensuring you select the Ultimate Everyone gift card as the payment card), you should have more success than if you entered the Ultimate Everyone gift card directly into the credit/debit card section.

      • If you go to a physical JB Hi-Fi store, you should be fine, as there should be nothing in JB Hi-Fi’s checkout system to stop you from using Ultimate gift cards to pay for JB Hi-Fi gift cards. However, you will need to add the Ultimate Everyone gift card to a supported mobile wallet first before you can make a payment instore. You will need to tell the staff member you want to pay by card (or Visa card), then tap your device against the EFTPOS terminal. However, you may run into a staff member who will insist that you cannot use any gift cards to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards, so be mindful of that.

      • You cannot go through the Ultimate gift card exchange portal on the Ultimate gift card website and attempt an exchange there, because JB Hi-Fi has not been on that exchange portal since November 2021.

      • +1

        Thanks for the detailed answer.

        • No worries. If you want an even more detailed answer, have a look here. (A slightly different question is being answered here, but there are some more details I glossed over above.)

      • +1

        Excellent explanation

    • +1

Yes. I bought 1 x $100 ultimate gift card this morning and this evening I used it to buy a JB Hi Fi gift card from their website - e-gift card came through my email a little bit after the order confirmation.

  • Is the cashback limited to one purchase for each denomination ?

  • +4

Ultimate pain in the… gift cards

  • +2

Now I have $1 left in one of the cards.

    • +1

It eats into the bonus when your are left with small amounts. Add them to a digital wallet and use in store at JB when you want to annoy the staff and the customers behind you in the queue.

  • The app says “sold out” for $50 and $100?

  • +1

looks like it's no longer available

  • +1

These gift cards can go to hell - wasted hours of time dicking around on their pathetic website. Can't exchange to JB hi-fi. Couldn't redeem instore at EB Games. Has just been one issue after another. Never buying these again.

    • Follow the instructions above. You can convert them to JB slowly online, but not all in one day.

  • +1

    Ultimately a waste of time.

    • Yes, only for those with patience and meticulousness.

Card issuer makes money by making it not easy to use. You need to beat it for the saving.

      • Yes I’m sure that’s their tactic. I’ve noticed after you activate them on the computer that they block you from logging in to your account on your phone. I am guessing that is to make it hard to add the card to the digital wallet. Could just be their security at work though. Both of my devices are on the same IP address so I don’t understand why they create these headaches. Surely they realise that a lot of people will see “ultimate gift card” and think no thanks after the nightmare they went through previously.

        • +1

The original link is not accessible after registration. It is only accessible via a new email that contains "Retrieve Card".

Alternatively, you can copy and paste the original link to a desktop PC to register it if it is easier. That's What I did.

Save the link or record the Visa info safely If not use it immediately.

          • @Neoika: Thanks.

The problem I described happens after they have been stored in my account via the pc. When I try and login via my mobile it blocks me.

I just login on the phone a few hours later and it seems ok. Would be annoying if you needed to add to the wallet in a hurry though.

I do know what you are talking about. That issue is a seperate thing. I know that they are inaccessible via ShopBack after the initial setup. You have to login from the registered email.

The info might help someone else though.

      • Never again. This company's digital cards can get absolutely (profanity). Worst GC experience I've ever had.

        • These are great if you need to get angry in a hurry.
