  • Shipping?

  • Does that price include delivery ???

  • Yes that Is delivered. Pretty good value for 1.5 tb my passport.

      • My passport seem to be the best for portable drives.

      • Don't know about the WD, but the seagate one is 12mm drive and fairly chunky for a 2.5 inch.

        • I think the 1tb were about 0.7 inches and the 1.5 tb 0.8inches thick. If that helps.

        • It's 1.5tb, USB3, and cheap… who cares if it's a few mm thicker.

People who want to rip out the bare drive and put it in their laptop will care.

      • Seagate is cheaper :)

how much when you add delivery to australia though ?

        • +2

          $127.22 AUD shipped.

        • Do 3TB 3.5" sales!!!

      • WD drive is thinner and smaller in all dimensions. I had trouble finding a case for the seagate.

        • Which shops did you try? I've got a handful of them from 3+ years ago, with 9.5mm drives in them. At one point MSY stopped stocking the standard ones, as the thicket ones would hold anything. People got grumpy about the 3mm bloat, so they caved. Hell, Seagate even make 7mm drives… but finding a case is 'fun'. My smallest external is a 128gb SSD uSATA in a tiny USB2 case. Waste of SSD, but wouldn't adapt well in SATA laptop.

  • It may be risky to get hard drives by the mail. Plus, if they fail (which is not uncommon with portable hard drives) then it'll be annoying to send it back.

  • "Powered directly from the USB port on your PC. No separate power supply is needed." Wow, for a 1.5 TB at that price? Thanks, sounds good!

  • purchased!

  • One of the 1.5tb portable WD drives was as low as US$105 + shipping last week. Think the deal was posted here on Ozbargain.

  • What kind of speeds do you guys get with these drives? I bought one from Amazon last time, and I'm only getting about 33MB/s either way. Yes my ports are USB 3.0. If this is the best it can do, then USB 3.0 seems like dodgy marketing because it can totally be done on USB 2.0.

Depends on your usb controllers/drives. USB 3 has enough throughput for about 125mb/s granted the drives on either end can write that fast. Real world speeds should be 70-90mb/s.

If you're only getting 33mb/s then check your hardware, my freshly formatted usb 2 sustains 60mb/s

      • I can't even get those speeds copying between internal HDDs through SATA2/3.

Tried that on two different PCs, one is brand new.

  • I bought 2 and when i regitered them I found out the warranty is "out of the region".
1st one was perfectly packed, not the 2nd one. Tested both of them and seemes to be ok.
