This will be perfect as a backup server for my main NAS HP Gen 8 G16010T (best $300 I’ve spent on network gear)
This will allow me to properly manage an off site backup.

  This qnap is almost as cheap as a simple 4 bay HDD storage unit ( DAS ).
  
  Worst case you can use it as storage and have Plex on a separate SFF PC.
  
  The QNAP will be fine to direct play
