I have been using my one daily for almost a year now. Got it via a Costco deal. This has been a zero issue workhorse for me for my daily long blacks.
I am not a coffee aficionado but I have no problems with the taste of the coffee pods I get.

  • Can I ask a question of the coffee fans please?

My mother wants a coffee machine so she can make cappuccino. Is this machine (or similar) suitable, or will she also need a milk frother to make it a cappuccino?
Space in her kitchen is at a premium, so would prefer to not have to get a separate frother.

Recommendations on suitable machines would be appreciated.

I am completely out of my depth here, as I can't stand coffee in any way, shape or form.

    • I think you can get away with heating 3/4 of a cup in the microwave & then using the coffee machine if you don't need it frothy.

    • depending on budget, a small machine and separate small frother may be the go. Have a look at the Aldi machine and frother - the machine is basic (and not as cheap), but they have a good variety of pods incl. hot chocolate at a decent price. Its basically a decent no nonsense setup for your mum.

      • The problem is not so much the budget, but available space - that's why I'd prefer not to get a separate frother. I looked at the Aldi one but rejected it as it required the separate frother to make a cappuccino.

        • then just search compact all in one machine - something like the sunbeam EM5000K. I've got a sunbeam barista max and its been going strong for years. Sunbeams aren't bad if you treat them well.
