On prepaid plans, yes. Not everyone can afford the monthly charge of a post-paid plan that commonly has free calls & text, a prepaid plan gives them the ability to carefully manage their spend. Or, perhaps it’s someone like me and has a burner SIM to use for Gumtree or FB Marketplace; I pay $10 and get a full year to use it, that’s less than a dollar per month so that a buyer/tyre-kicker can contact me without giving out my personal number.
I’m trying to understand this, don’t all their prepaid plans include unlimited calls and SMS?
NOT for prepaid plans.
Clearly stated in Title as for Pay-As-You-Go Plan!eg Some here have (referral & other) credit obtained on paid Amaysim plan. After paid plan expires, continue free on Pay-As-You-Go Plan for next year.
Calls & SMS are paid from that credit.
For now they're FREE!
(Pay-As-You-Go Plan needs $10 recharge end of each year to continue with those credits.)Got an almost free Amaysim paid plan last year, which earned $60 credit. Now on Pay-As-You-Go Plan with that credit.

Sure, but it’s hardly “clearly stated” on the Amaysim website. It’s at the bottom of the prepaid page, nowhere to be found in the menus at the top.

This Deal lets people know PAYG is an option with Amaysim & one of its occasional advantages!
PAYG has been discussed in many Amaysim Deals here. People have said they're on it.
I regularly recommend Amaysim because of it - in other Deals. It's a way to park a number long term, to use later at low cost. And to have a number for incoming calls & SMS at no extra cost for a year. Handy for verification in many Deals here!
I've commented on it many times, & used it for years - after plenty of free Amaysim paid services ran out.
My many PAYG services are slowly expiring a year later. Am not interested in paying $10/yr to keep active & already used up the credit.
Have much better options from other providers - discussed in Deals👍
i've got a few numbers on PAYG, only one of them with a $49 credit balance was targeted with the offer
