About the unit:

First Aid, (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid) This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty. The first aid course applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. This course was also previously known as Apply First Aid, Senior First Aid, or Level 2.

• Fully accredited nationally recognised training. This qualification can be used in all States and Territories throughout Australia.
• This qualification is considered the industry standard for a range of workplace roles and employment categories.

Course covers:

• Responding to an emergency situation Casualty assessment and reporting Duty of Care and consent
• How to seek assistance and contact emergency services Performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Debriefing and psychological impact
• Anaphylaxis and severe allergic reaction Trauma and wound control
• Choking and airway obstruction Envenomation (Bites and Stings) Fractures and soft tissue injury Shock
• Asthma and respiratory distress Epilepsy and seizures Abdominal injuries
• Burns and scalds
• Cardiac conditions
• Diabetes
• Head, neck and spinal injuries Stroke
• Use of an auto-injector: Epi-pen
• Use of an auto-inhaler and spacing device Poisoning

  HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support

    Very good point to bring up. Pretty sure i paid $75 at another company last time and that included the other units you mentioned.

  We require candidates to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to attending practical training.

  Never heard of a first aid course requiring this before.

    LLN is part of the $50 course. All students are required to do this as part of the certification.
