  • Soz to those who are 5.1km away from the store.

Then you can get the order delivered 100m away from your house and wait there :D

        This guy ozbargains, lol

      • +2

        Big brain time 🧠

    • +1

Funny story. I'm outside of Nando's radius by a few metres so what I usually do is have it delivered to places within the radius like petrol station my fav, an apartment block, house that no one lives lmao

  • +8

Why does the price of each item increase by $1-2 when I switch from pickup to free delivery?

    • +11

Yeah there is a small mark up when you choose delivery vs pick up or dine in. Not at the levels of Uber Eats etc. though.

      Pick up / Dine in:

      Half Chicken Pack
      $22.45

      Whole PERi-PERi Chicken+2 Large Sides
      $32.50

      1/4 PERi-PERi Chicken
      $9.45

      Delivery:

      Half Chicken Pack
      $24.65

      Whole PERi-PERi Chicken+2 Large Sides
      $34.50

      1/4 PERi-PERi Chicken
      $10.00

      • Isn't this like a bait and switch or misrepresentation by Nandos??

    • Cos nothing is free in this World! Except air, this is free.

      • +1

Well, nothing is free that’s true. I expect to pay a hefty premium for delivery.

But it’s absurd that these companies are getting away with creatively “hiding” their fees among markups, service fees and subscriptions.

They should only be allowed to charge one extra fee, open and transparent.

        • +2

I agree, I hate when they do that and claim low or no delivery fees.

    Nandoes used to be good.
    Perks has basically faded away.

The dine in restaurant near me only accepts orders from the app .. even if you walk in. Havn't been in months now.

    • +2

Yeah Perks used to regularly have the free side with mains deal, 1/4 chickens used to be $6.95 so you could get a quarter chicken with chips for less than $7

    • couldve sworn the $ to pts exchange rate has worsened as well

    • Yeah I had that too. Can't live without a smartphone these days

    • there's a huge difference in taste and texture ever since they decided to par-cook their chicken. it was overpriced to begin with but now the only thing that'd tempt me is if it cost less than cooked supermarket chicken.

  • -1

does anyone cook or go get their own food anymore?

    • +1

I cooked a slightly too spicy chilli con carne just last night

      • +1

love a good chilli con carne! bravo amigo!

      • Been lovin the dynamite Stagg cans, quick nachos.

    • +1

I go and get my own food from Nandos yeah

      • <adulthood achievment unlocked>

  • the two nandos 'restaurants' (like other brick and mortar establishments, these are basically uber eats waiting rooms now) closest to me are dreadfully understaffed. Wait times can go from 15-20 mins in off-peak times to something like 45 during dinner/lunch rushes.

  • +3

Maybe just me but last 2 times I have been to a Nando's (different suburbs) the quantity is tiny - full chicken was less than it used to (even large chips are like small or medium at best)

  • Nando's sucks, expensive, tiny portions and since plandemic is now cashless

    • True statement with hwhich i agree in its entirety

    • totally cashless? all stores? for real?

      • +2

I’m vision impaired and only use cash as there is braille on Australian money. Are Nando’s for real? Sending head office a complaint now!

        • Are cards not vision impaired friendly?

          • +2

@askbargain: Cards are but getting balance updates online from bank websites/apps are not so much. It’s easier to count cash using the Braille on the notes and stacking the money in order in a wallet is much more easier and doesn’t require help from anyone.

            • @J B S: Genuinely curious, if you are alone and use tap&go are you able to check how much they are charging you or do you just have to trust that they are doing the right thing?

              • @Rain Cloud: I ask for the total amount they will be charging me and then trust they enter the right amount on eftpos machine. Later I log in on my MacBook into bank and use a screen reader to check bank statement. Usually I keep dockets so if there is a discrepancy I can go back and ask for the money back which I’ve had to do before - most big franchises do the right thing as they can’t change the eftpos amount from the point of sale machine. It’s the smaller businesses I have to monitor. Joys of being vision impaired…

                • +1

@J B S: Thanks for the insight. It would be nice if they one day made eftpos machines have some kind of Braille output so you can be sure!

                  • +1

@Rain Cloud: Thanks for asking me and yes Braille output would be nice or even just a voice output on the machine like some of the newer Taxi’s have.

      • The stores I've been to in Victoria and Queensland

    • I call it Nando's pigeons!

  • Still miss their chicken ribs :/

  • Shnitz was free delivery today too

  • Had it for dinner. You can also use the welcome "free chips" promo (it will be on the app for new users) and still retain free delivery.

  • I might just check how strict the radius is, surely nothing beats the Baskin & Robbins app lol.
