  • I wonder if this is yet another Alpicool variant like Brass Monkey and Rovin?
Looks similar-ish but I have not seen that exact style before

    • I have the rovin one. Inbox me if you are in Mel

      • bummer you are in mexico, i would grab it for a friend.

That is worryingly cheap.. I want it.

      yeah boi!! lets worry together!

      • I've rolled the dice!

OP - where did you find those specs? (I can't find them on the Catch website, or anywhere else. Can see this with those specs but it's a different model.

    • Fixed! I've pasted the wrong one, but they look like the same thing. =D

      • Yeah this one has no specs like that last one. No power ratings, no mention that it uses refrigerant - a bit worrying.

This looks very similar are totally different price. There are so many made up looking brands there, all very similar
I start worrying about whether the plastics are OK or possibly leaches chemicals at this price point + no name brand
Lol at the Random German state name

Yeah it appears to be a generic fridge that gets branded by various companies. There seems to be a few of them around, and Google image search brings up ones sold in the USA too.

Google shopping shows it as down to $170 from $400, but cached info appears to show it was $200 at some point.

  • Removable fridge/ freezer divider?

    • Yes. Slides out

  • Looks like it's just a fridge / drinks cooler. For the price, I doubt it'll be one of those fancy fridge / freezer ones which can chill down to -20 deg. Happy to be proven wrong. :p

    • Yeah seems like just a thermo cooler and not a compressor fridge. I personally wouldn't buy it.

    • I agree. The price suggests not a compressor. But everything matches the more expensive unit.

Price history appears to show it was $399 at some point, and dropped to $200 before $170. So could just be clearance stock.

The same fridge appears to be sold under many different brand names. I imagine it is just a generic cheap compressor fridge, and stock is getting cleared out. Based on the specs from ones under other brands, it seems normal. Up to 55W power draw, and will do temps down to -20 degrees Celsius.

I noticed another decent fridge deal - the 55L Rovin GH2240 is currently $197 from Bing Lee. Delivery is $40 though and I am not sure how widespread stock is for pickup.

Bing Lee eBay appears to give $10 off using the code "PWESNS" but also charges $40 delivery if not picking up.

The GH2240 has a similar setup to the Sonnenberg with a divider but not separate controllable zones. Can be run with the entire thing as a freezer. No wheels though. You get the full spec and the manual from the Jaycar website

Rovin is a decent enough brand - I have a larger one that has been great. Here is a recent Ozbargain deal for a similar price 50L Rovin fridge, with some useful discussion.

Haha yet another model I have not seen. I would probably go the Rovin given that its made by Alpicool/Brass Monkey. They seem to have had a bigger go at setting themselves up with quality assurance, guarantees that last etc

    Mine arrived today.
    It's a compressor fridge.
Seems petty good for the price.

  • Price dropped to $29 today, but now sold out.

  • Let us know your thoughts if you bought it - especially how it compares to Brass Monkey or Rovin

    • No i couldn't. I was bit late.
