    Yeah I suppose. I was worried about how long it'll be supported but seeing as the iPad 10th Gen is basically the same unit it should still get supported for another 5 years.

      That makes a lot of sense for marketing purposes initially but your also losing out on market share by doing whatever the marketing department says is working cause I'm sure they're people that'd buy the iPad 128GB version if there was no 64GB lol

        64 gb is sold for a long time and it works for them in terms of market share (ipad is most popular tablet)

        64 GB is the bare minimum, so people who absolutely don't want to pay anymore will buy this
        then others compare and seems not much to go to 128, then they look and see not much more to go 256 etc..
        then Apple will keep leading you up that ladder..
        then before too long you start thinking the pro is not a bad purchase for not much more..

        if they made 128 gb as the minimum
        it would just cost them more, and they would have to lower the price point of this base model to the 64GB price to compete with Android tablet.
        So nothing to gain for them.

        64GB is essentially apples cheapest ipad to compete with the Android tablets.

        there was a video MKBHD talked about how "Apple is good at this step up strategy of selling"
        This is essentially business strategy of Upselling.
        Upselling is regularly done in fast food stores.
        Apple is really good with upselling their products.

          @pinkybrain: People like me don't make the decision to purchase an apple tablet cause we are sitting on the fence since I'm waiting for 128/256GB to be cheaper obviously before being standard - yes they're successful, but they could be more lol, remem there in it for the ecosystem (software/app store) not the hardware - I just checked and apple/jbhifi for 9th/10th gen space grey ipads don't have anything but 64/256gb models, price diff I don't wanna pay, getting into the ecosystem is gonna cost anyway lol

            64GB will always be there base model and they haven't change that strategy for along time if ever.

            They are like richest cashup company..
            don't think being more successful is a concern them..
            whatever they are doing is working for them.

            if you so concern about the cost of the 128Gb, you unlikely to buy any of their ecosystem software / apps
            most likely only using the free apps/games/movies..

            There are people who own apple products but never paid for anything in the app store.

            yeah that is why there is the android ecosystem.
            if don't want to pay the apple prices (which are really high) compared to android specs..

            you have some choices
            -buy older apple products,
            -buy the apple product from these ebay (discounts) = probably cheapest it will get, Apple don't ever offer big discounts
            -buy android
