    Crazy price after redemption

This router is fast fast fast lightning speed performance

  • -1

How do you prove you have those routers?

    • I don't know I'm not a store rep… that's just what it says on the ebay page!
edit: sorry I misunderstood the question, I thought you were referring to how much ebay stock there was.

    • +1

you need to provide photos of the serial numbers on the devices (not the boxes)

  • bought myn on 22/3 - cant get the $100 :(

  • and i thought my router was fugly

    • 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder'

    • It's a beast though. It runs cool all day long even at high CPU with multiple sets of power features on with no active fan.

  • AI Mesh compatible?

    • +2

      AiMesh
      AiMesh : Yes
      Primary AiMesh router : Yes
      AiMesh node : Yes

    • +1

Can confirm. Have mine setup as Primary, and a basic AIMesh router as node at the other side of the house. Overkill? Yeah… but then again I'm also tempted to get a second one to replace the node.

It's ridiculously speedy, feature packed, and red. And it's also quite… large.

Thanks bought one to replace my main router of AX56u

  • +1

Apparently the cashback is only eligible if this is your second router purchase

"THE CASH BACK AMOUNT IS BASED ON THE SECOND ASUS NETWORKING PRODUCT PURCHASE LISTED IN TABLE 2 WITHIN PROMOTION PERIOD"

    • buy two, save $100 :)

      • Gonna try register my AX56u first that I bought in December. Hopefully that suffices the requirement

  • Can someone enlighten me - what's the purpose of the dual 2.5G WAN port? Currently have FTTP 1G. Are the WAN ports for future proofing in case NBN offers something greater than 1GBPS connection?

    • +1

Main use for the 2.5Gb LAN port would be a NAS

NBN yes it's limited so you're not going to get use out of the WAN port

    • Local home / small office network for quickly sending large files between PCs. (LAN)

  • +1

Just for those unaware this is not a MODEM so you will need a additional modem which means a large footprint given it's already a large Router on it's own. Does anyone have a suggestion for a small Modem that would work well with this Router?

    • It does have pppoe though which is what I already use in my Asus router to connect fine through the NBN modem.

    • +2

An additional VDSL2 modem is only needed for FTTN and FTTB.

For everything else plugin the Asus router straight to the nbn box.

  • If anyone wants to split the cashback, DM me

    • Msgd

  • Thanks OP, I bought three for an AI Mesh setup to replace my dated AC routers

    • Three of these for AI Mesh? Ooft. Sounds overkill. Surely 1 as main router and cheaper nodes would suffice

      • It does but my 10yo AC routers were in dire need of replacement

        • +1

Fair enough. I got a few ax53u routers a few months ago when they were ~$89. Perfect for AI Mesh although I'm using ethernet backhaul

  • hmmm havent got a second router anyone have and wanna split on cashback

    • Msg me

  • How do they assess you previously bought a valid Asus router? The redemption asks for the new router serial only.

    • You need to have a previous router registered under your account including serial

      • Ahh thanks, just registered mine. Would of been a derp moment if I already had the new router and submitted without that

  • Already experiencing random disconnect and reconnects via LAN ports.
Swapped to Wi-fi on PC works fine all day.
    Anyone else?

    • No issues on my end except I was unable to get a WAN IP until i updated firmware and rebooted the modem. Has been excellent since. Have you updated firmware?

      • Yep.

It worked fine for two weeks.
Now it's getting randomly disconnect then connects back after like 5-10secs.

        • Very strange. I'd try factory reset and resetup

  • Has anyone heard about or received their cashback for this? Has been silent since I registered

    • Same here, no claims confirmation email after registration.

    • Nothing after initial registration and submission. They did say it would take up to 12 weeks though from what I remember

      • Yeah it was just more concerning I got 0 correspondence from them. I also emailed them 3 days ago when I made the above comment, but again 0 correspondence
