    These prices are getting unreal.

Need more deals on some 2230's though for the steam decks/allys.

I wonder if these ssd prices will keep on falling… Would love a 4TB drive for extra storage but not needed urgently

    • Never once in human history IT systems got cheaper over time

  • Been out of this game for too long. Are these good alternatives to HDDs for storage purpose?

      this is for OS installation

HDD still cheaper per GB for storage.

You can get ~12-14 tb in HDD space for the same price so no.

      • I'm running out of space on my measly 2TB Green WD. What's a good HDD around $200 mark that is also quiet/silent?

        • If you want silent/quiet then go with an SSD.

    • Depends on your capacity, and if you are using it a lot. Smaller capacity and if you're pulling lots of files to stack in photography based software, well I'd go with an SSD of any kind.

    • Are these good alternatives to HDDs for storage purpose?

Yep, if your data will fit on it comfortably.

If you have 10s of TB then you'll still need HDDs.

I just upgraded my machine, my man Z790 PROART has 4 slots, I’ve filled up with 2TB and a 4TB P3+ (games / work files), I paid $340 a few weeks back so this is a great deal!! Buying another two to fill the remaining slots

(Real world tests I can copy at 2-3gbs per second) which matches write speeds

How is this for running VMs compared to regular SSDs?

  • +2

Geez I remember buying my first non-ssd HD and my computer literally took 5 minutes to boot up, then I got my first SSD and took like 30 seconds from cold start up, now I got an NVMe and my computer takes around 10 seconds to boot up

    Crazy tech….

  • hopefully we get some deals on 2.5" cheap sata ssds

    dont need the NVME performance

  • Sooo these are QLC meaning close to 80% and they will slow down in writes unless it has DRAM or HMB? Correct me if im wrong.
