  • Good for all those who bought a steam deck over the weekend

  • +2

Can you take these on plane?

    • +6

Yes, but not without prior authorisation from the airline since it's over 100Wh (114Wh iirc).

      • +1

I would get the 100w 20,000mah one that was posted last week for $69

        • Yep, that one (Baseus Blade) is legal to fly under 26k or 27k mah capacity (international standard I can't specially recall), but mine died within 3 months, and comments on recent deal indicate I'm not alone. It's ebay plus so returns are easy enough, but I'll wait until next deal on a more reliable brand. Decent price though

      • How to tell it's over 100Wh? Want to check my existing powerbank

        • +3

It's usually printed on the Power Bank (with all the other input/output information).

          To calculate Wh:

          (mAh)/1000 x (V) = (Wh)

          So this power bank:

          30000mAh/1000 x 3.8V = 114Wh

        • You can multiply mAh by the battery voltage then divide by 1000 to get Wh. For this power bank it's 30000mAh and rated at 3.8V.

          30000 x 3.8 / 1000 = 114Wh

You'll need to check your specific power bank to get the voltage but usually they are around 3.7ish.

Is there an unofficial competition of who is the first one to ask this question when a power bank is posted?

      • This is bigger then previous units posted

      • I literally have the answer in Notepad++ ready to go because someone always asks :P

    The Weight is 550g.

I bought one a couple weeks back on another deal and I'm really liking it so far, I returned an Anker 20k for this and I’m much happier!

Here are some details that might help people regarding the actual charging capability:
    - MacBook Air M2, has a battery capacity of 4730mAh / 52.6Wh (closed in sleep mode for this test)
    - Charged from 6% to 48% in 29 minutes using the USB-C to USB-C ports on the power bank and laptop.
    - Used 31% of the battery on the power bank.

So I gather that from a full power bank charge I could get roughly 1.55 charges for my MBA.

Isn't Baseus powerbank it a bit miss and hit on quality??

    • i think still a bit better than blitzwolf, but i like xiaomi more than baseus.
      blitzw is sooo bad

    • +1

yes it's terrible, got this powerbank a few months ago and it just decided to die suddenly, BUYER BEWARE!! I'd never buy baseus brand stuff anymore

      • +3

not sure why I'm being negged for warning potential buyers of the grieve they have to go through…so for those who negged me go ahead and buy Baseus products they are awesome! (good luck when they suddenly die on you)

        • Warranty? One negative experience doesn't reflect the entire brand.

          • +1

@rekke: just look at other comments on OZB about this item/brand and you will see it's not just 1 item

        • I appreciate it! I'll get a fancy Xiaomi instead.

        • Ditto had one die on me too within a few months

  • +1

Seems hit and miss according to a quick YouTube search. Few videos and comments from people that it just stops working after a while. Probably poor/incomplete protection circuit.

    Over 100 Wh

If your power bank is between 100Wh and 160Wh you may still take it with you, but it will probably need to be cleared by the airline.

Is this overkill just to charge a phone? Since ill just be using the USB 4 Output (30W)

    • I think of it as having spare juice all the time. Only thing to look out for is maybe the weight. Its quite heavy but the capacity is no joke.

  • Got my hands on this one couple of months back and only have good things to say.

This one is really handy if you have a laptop that can operate at 65w and of course steam deck.
Charges pretty quick too with a 45 or 65w charger.

    Highly recommended.

  • These are pretty great, happily keeps my USB-C dell laptop running

  • Not quite the cheapest it's been this year, picked up for under $65 last month but has been good so far. Charged everything I've thrown at it no problem, and just seems to keep going and going. Weighty little sucker though.
