    I think the price is pretty good but I don't believe this is a stabilised lense and with that level of zoom, you'd want to use a tripod most of the time.

    yeah older design so non VR

    not that important i guess because its gonna be tough in the 200mm+ range anyway due to the f5.6 and poor glass

    and oh… DWI lol

      Please, dont use VR in Canon product. It's IS (Image Stabilization)

      If there is no tripod around, we can use 1.5x (zoom) shutter speed formula to avoid blur
      ie: for 200 zoom = 200x1.5 = 1/300 shutter speed , the more the better.

      needs to pump iso and flash to compensate the darkness though

    Bought this lens recently 2nd hand, not bad for the price.

    Pretty impressed up to 200mm, after that it's tough going.

    Most cameras come with a -200mm kit, unless you have some really attractive neighbours in a building a fair way away… i can't really see the need for a -300mm
