$305 delivered to melbourne. no bargain for me

  • Basically same price when shipping is added. Not really a bargain. Maybe 5% of a bargain?

TopBuy was having them for less than $300 delivered a few weeks ago, and that did not go too well…

    • Yeah, look back - it's actually pretty decent…

    how to delete this post?
    Thanks

    • +2

Don't delete it. Still a bargain in the eyes of some people. Besides, if you live in the sticks where the only shops around you sell the Nexus for $330+ this would be a decent offer.

Also, some people use Ozbargain as a price comparison tool. If you delete this listing, it will no longer show up in searches.

    • Rather move to the forums.

  • Might want to consider getting it from Google's play https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_7_16g…
Comes with free $25 credit to spend in the Google Play store.
However I think shipping does cost extra.

    • Doesnt every new device have the $25 credit? regardless of where it is bought from?

      • +1

        Yes they all do.

    • Shipping costs ~$19 or something in that range.

$276~ delivered - Not in stock right now, probably worthy of its own separate deal.

    http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/878214-REG/ASUS_NEXUS7…

    • Isnt the delivery cost over $30? at least it was, last time i checked

      • It is for B&H Photo Video.

        Nexus 7 (USD$249) + Shipping (USD$38.86) = USD$287.86 = ~AUD $276 so wbeer is right.

  • well if you are lucky you might be able to get officeworks to pricematch and get it down to $261 and just pick it up http://mynexustablet.blogspot.com.au/2012/08/nexus-7-hard-to…

    • OW take into account the shipping price.

    • I suppose if the sales rep doesn't check shipping options, you may be able to get away with it. Will be interesting to see if anybody can get away with this. The only thing that makes me think otherwise is that this is a rather substantial price cut. But then again, crazier things have happened! And if there's a will, OzBargainers have a way.

      • The blog mentioned that the sales rep used the price without delivery factored in. Perhaps against OW policy?

        • I worked at an Officeworks branch in Sydney for three years, and we were always told that it was the "end price" of the product, including all fees, taxes and shipping.
The Price-Match policy says "identical stocked item". The word "identical" was key. The Nexus tablet on our shelf is ready to go at the sticker price, with no additional cost. A Nexus tablet in Queensland is subjected to shipping charges to get it to a Sydney consumer. To bring that product next to our one (hence making it identical in nature and availability), it is subject to that extra cost. Hence, it must be considered.

The guarantee is to get people to buy our product instead of a competitors cheaper product. If the consumer needs to pay the extra cost to buy the competitor's product, why would we omit it?

But then again, you may just get a junior sales member on POS or somebody who really doesn't give a damn, and they'd put it through.

        • Mate, do you match overseas price? like this nexus 7 if you purchase from overseas, you get it for $276 delivered.

        • junior sales reps are the best!

The good guys increased the price of this tablet by 3 bucks. Last time I asked OW to beat the price by 5% it was 312 bucks in the good guys. I paid about 296 bucks something. Nice tablet, but the android needs to work on the play store. very limited application.. :-(

  • apparently a rep at JBHIFI said they get priority in Aus for the N7.
I got mine for $300 last Wednesday with a bit of persuasion.
