  • how easy/difficult it is to deal with Samsung for warranty claim/hardware faults ?

    • Pretty easy, I mean it depends…. I go directly to their warranty repairer since they are down the road. TecWorks in Brissy does warranty work for them check the Store in your local city. All you need is a proof of purchase and they will sort you out. They are SUPER helpful and help you find ways around limitations. My warranty had run out by a few months for my buds but they managed to put a special request in and get them swapped out.

If you go to a Samsung store its a PAIN IN THE ARSE!

      • I had screen issue in past. They wanted me to leave my phone at their repair center 2-3 days so they can inspect the phone before I can claim warranty. And i did not had spare phone. may be different service center different experience.

        • Yeah, Samsung told me the same thing… Another repair shop told me about TecWorks and I contacted them…. Samsung need the time to send the device over to TecWorks… Skip the middle man… go directly to them

They have a repair centre in Banyo and they keep your device for 1 hour to assess it.

They normally fix it on the same day and if they need to order parts in you can take the device home and bring it back when you're done.

They do repairs on Saturday's as well, however, they are only open for 1/2 day.

I have repaired about 4 devices from TecWorks in the past 5 years and I have had no issues. Same day fix, if parts are not available they call when they are… service is great!

    • extremely difficult. read the Samsung review here.
      https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/samsung.
I purchased a S23 in April this year from Samsung online store, the box was damaged when I received. I returned the phone as it was delivered (without opening the box), got a delivery confirmation from Austpost.
Long story short. I still have not received a replacement phone, nor refund.
Samsung have lost the phone after delivery, and it is going no where….I have lost money, and don't have a phone.

Given this is almost $100 more than the pixel 7 (not too mention the gift card from JB) is there much reason to pick this over the pixel?
I'm not trying to be snarky. It's a sincere question

Plenty of articles online comparing the two, so fair question.

From a brief skim - Better display and faster processor would be reasons for the S22. Pixel 7 for camera and software.

      • The pixel 7 will get longer update support, no?

        • Pixel 7 & Pixel 7 Pro

Ignore this, the worst purchase I've ever made in the phone space. Has a battery that'll die in less than 2 hours of moderate use. Glad I swapped this for the newer, much more efficient S23 series.

Less than 2 hours use? Sounds faulty.

    • Sounds like my experience the samsung flip 3.. terrible battery life

I avoided the s22 due to battery complaints and just went back to an s21..

      • With the downside of the Exynos chipset though.

      Gaming isn't "moderate use"
