Oh wow, they finally have the white version now. I settled for the black one a few years back for an all-white build but luckily can’t see much of it.

It has been a great power supply. Using it now also for the 4080 without any issues.

Anyone care to chip in about how this compares to the Corsair SF750 Platinum? Are the savings worth it?

    • +1

At this price yes. If they're at the same price then the Corsair is a bit better being quieter and having sleeved cables

Extra 100W headroom on the 12V and the aesthetic style I guess.

I think the Corsair cables are sleeved too, versus the unsleeved white cables here.

I don't think either unit is more likely than the other to explode, based on the given specs.

Neither unit is ATX 3.0 compatible either so keep that in mind in regards to GPU. (Almost all will come with an adapter, but I suspect that would disrupt the nice aesthetic for some people)

They're both A rated on ye olde spreadsheet.

  • If only it was around this price last year, I bought the V750 SFX black for $180 x_x

    • Bro ..we are on same boat.

  • Tempting but the white PSU might look odd in the NR200P unless I get the white case…
Only issue is even with a white case and PSU, most motherboards and gpu are black, does it look odd?

    • +1

Depends on the case and how much of your PSU actually shows. On my Lian Li 011D Mini, you can only see the PSU from the back of the case - which you never see anyway (usually facing the back wall).

Also depends what other components you already have. There are some really nice builds with black and white components :)

    • Doesn't NR200P have a coloured PSU bracket? You can barely see the colour of PSU anyway once installed with the bracket?

My SAMA IM01 is white & comes with a white PSU bracket that pretty much enclosed my V750 black PSU, thus still matching with the overall colour of the build.

Like the previous reply said, the NR200P comes with a sfx psu bracket and it covers most of the PSU. I think the cables are actually the most visible part. This PSU comes with matching white cables so consider that how you will.

  • if you can, the corsair sfx psu is much better, these CM ones have that annoying issue where the fans ramp up from 0 to 100, audible and annoying.

It sounds like CM did a unit revision to fix this and just tied the fan curve to temperature again instead of load.

Except the only way to know for sure which one you get is by inspecting the box graphics. The newer revision has the fan curve on the back of the box replaced, and the little box mentioning 15% fan curve on the front is replaced by a box saying Japanese capacitors.

Probably something to check if you're buying in-store, and something to shove in the order notes when buying online. (Although that depends on them reading it)

Edit: Although I wonder how old their stock is, given the ATX 3.0 model is out now.

While CM sound like they'll swap them for the cost of postage, that's just a needless PITA step.

      • tied the fan curve to temperature again instead of load.

The fact that they even made such a stupid amateurish mistake in the first place makes me doubt their engineers' competence.

  • Need a new PSU as current one has crazy coil noise.
Is this one OZB folks can recommend?

    • +1

Definitely recommended this for the price of 850w.
