Just got home and pretty drunk, and I got an email from Amazon saying that the payment for my order for a 256gb pro plus microsd was declined, so started drunk browsing Amazon. Not sure how I worked this out.

The 10% + 6% stack only seems to work on a certain Samsung items shipped from Amazon US. And you have to buy at least 2 of the following:

  • Yes Brand please?

For a few dollars (~5) more, is the p41 1tb better than the 990 pro?

    • +1

Yes, the P41 would be a better buy for $5 more.

  • +1

    That list with links?

im not sure you can advertise drunk after one shandy

    • +1

What's a shandy? Did you mean handy?

      • I think it is 50% beer, 50% lemonade

  • Getting from UK, should I cancel the UK order.

Do note Samsung have started to cut production of SSDs.

    • +2

Yes, the recent low prices for SSDs have not been the result of lowered production costs. They have resulted from decreased demand causing a glut of stock that had to be sold off cheap to move it. Manufacturers are now cutting production to match reduced demand, which will result in prices going back up. Get the bargains now, they won't continue much longer.

  • Drunk posting and browsing should be banned, it's very dangerous for your wallets.. lol

    • It's how I bought my first coffee machine…

        La Marzocco Linea Micra?

    • -4

Getting drunk should be banned. Doesn't help anyone when you are out of your senses.

      • Except that you are out of your senses.

I think I make better posts while drunk

  • Maybe they upped the price? 980 Pro with heat sink is showing as $151.78 for me.

    • +2

You have to add another product it goes down to 127.51 add one of the cheap ones from the post

  • Is $272 a good price for a 2TB 990 Pro?

    • I dunno, my PC only supports 3rd gen so getting that would be a waste of money. I was mainly browsing microsds and noticed the Samsung stack

  • +1

Given the degeneration problems with the Samsung 980 and 990 pros I’d stay away for now at least.

I installed a 500gb 980Pro 8 months ago and it’s already written 149.30TB with relatively light use, whereas the 950pro (250GB) in my other machine that I moved from wrote less than 30TB in 7 years. I know that Samsung has released a firmware fix (for the 980pro at least), but I’m not entirely sure as yet if it’s fixed the problem.

  • I just bought a 2TB Kingston KC3000 for my new computer as my boot drive, what SSD would you guys recommend as a storage drive, doesn't need to be super fast, just for storing data long term 2TB+. My second slot is PCIe3.0 only

  • It appears as if it's not just Samsung. I tried a few US Items and managed to get the 16% off on Seagate Ironwolf 4TB NAS so came down to $114.26 each delivered by June 18. MSY has them for $125 which seems to be cheapest in Aus @ the moment

    • ** NOW 17% off so $112.90 each if buying 2+
