$8 in Google Play Credit - Ideas on Spending Please

Happy Sunday,

I've got $8 in Google Play credits that will disappear end of June.
I don't really buy apps so not sure what might be useful or within the under $8 mark.

I'd prefer not to spend extra and nothing where I'd need to cancel by a certain date etc.

Would love to know what apps others buy (if any) or recommend?

Thanks all.

I know you said you'd rather not spend extra, however, if I was in your shoes, I'd just spring for a month of Disney+

    • Thanks for the suggestion.

You can use Google Play credit for that? Wow, will have to have a look!

Back in the day there used to be apps where you could make an in app purchase and they would give you 50% back into your paypal account. Was good when you could use your Telstra recharge credit to pay for it.

    • OMG yes those were the days.

      Not surprised that got closed.

      • Yep especially when i discovered telstra had accidentally packaged $30 sims as $2 sims ( hehe those were the days)

Do you play any mobile games that you can spend the money on? Genshin/Honkai etc

Otherwise do you watch twitch? You can support streamers by subscribing. You need to subscribe on mobile to use google play money and it is $9 for subscription vs $8 on desktop.

    • Yeah I tend to play pretty standard games tho. Cards, sudoku, mahjong, chess. I have played other games like monument valley, limbo etc too so i like a wide variety. Anything except timed high pressure games. Those i tend to stop quickly as i often play before bed. I'll have a look at the suggestions you made, thanks.

on Android Play Store, Angry Kraken's version of Sudoku is a good one and worth buying, imo.

        • Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like a good choice.

      • Pokemon Go! That's where all my credits go. Not that you have to spend to play but its a nice to have that bonus; specially if you are a new starter.

  • Google one sub.

    • Looks really interesting. From what I can see, it's free. I don't like that the app has not even a single review and also doesn't declare under Data Safety how it collects and uses personal data. Do you use it?

  • candy crush…..

    • Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, have played but got to a point of difficulty and just got bored so stopped.

I use mine to pay for Spotify (or other streaming services) and if its expiring i just rent a $6 movie.
Tbh though my credit is just free with Google Rewards.

    • Google rewards still working for you, mine use too send lots of offerd till all of a sudden google stopped notifying me offers and dont know why

      • Open the app a few times and I bet within a few days you will start getting surveys again.

      • mine works fine

    • How to do that??!!

      • Select pay with Google play at checkout…

        • Ermm
For me there are only 2 payment methids
          Paypal and cards

          • @Yellowducky23: No idea, searching the internet might be more helpful than me. All I know is it came up as an option for me. Alternatively you can pay for it via the Google play app I think as that is where I had to cancel the subscription from.

Edit :Taken directly from Spotify website.

"Paying for Spotify with Google Play Billing
You can use Google Pay to pay for Spotify.
Select Pay with Google Play billing at checkout and follow the steps. "

    Robux.

    • Why?

      • -5

Here are five reasons why you might consider spending $8 on Robux, the virtual currency used in the online gaming platform Roblox:

Enhanced Gaming Experience: Robux allows you to access premium features, items, accessories, and customization options within Roblox games. By spending $8 on Robux, you can enhance your avatar's appearance, unlock exclusive items, and have more options to personalize your gameplay experience.

Support Developers: Many game developers on Roblox monetize their creations through in-game purchases. By purchasing Robux, you are directly supporting these developers and helping them continue to create and improve the games you enjoy playing.

Expand Your Game Library: Robux can be used to purchase a wide variety of games, expansions, and virtual experiences within the Roblox platform. Spending $8 on Robux gives you access to a range of games and activities, allowing you to explore new adventures and enjoy different genres of gameplay.

Social Interaction: Roblox is a highly social platform, and having Robux can enhance your social interactions with other players. You can use Robux to join premium groups, create and manage your own virtual hangouts, or participate in exclusive events, creating more opportunities to connect and engage with the Roblox community.

Creative Expression: Roblox offers robust tools for user-generated content, allowing players to create their own games, environments, and virtual items. By investing in Robux, you gain access to additional features and resources that enable more advanced and creative building and scripting options, empowering you to bring your imagination to life within the platform.

Ultimately, the decision to spend $8 on Robux depends on your personal enjoyment and engagement with the Roblox platform. If you find value in the additional features, content, and experiences that Robux can offer, it might be worth considering the investment.

  • If you're in Sydney or Melbourne, TripView is a must-have. It's perfect for when you know the public transport route to take, and you need access to timetables/save different routes. Sometimes you can save loads of time just because Google Maps is often wrong. My favourite feature is where there are multiple routes to take by train from one station to another, it shows all your options and which one will get you to your destination first. Particuarly useful at places like Hornsby, Epping, Strathfield…

AnyTrip is also great but is a subscription (albeit cheap). It's a little different, it's mainly a departure board and gives access to real-time tracking of public transport.
