    I miss MASTERS, anyone else?
So much better than bunnings in so many ways

    • That's why they collapsed

      • The collapsed because of poor marketing. I would tell people to go there, or that I was going there (2 years after they opened) and no-one knew who they were/what they sold.
The only ad I saw for them was that jingle of "I'm going to make it with Masters", when they should have just come out and said we're an alternative to bunnings, with more home decorating and whitegoods.

        • I found Masters to be very hit and miss, some things were very competitive with the bunnings offerings and it being 5 minutes close was a no brainer.

But some stuff they went a really weird direction with, as an example i needed a step drill for some DIY stuff, went to Masters and the only step drill they offered was $90, i believe i got a 2 pack from Bunnings for less than $20. I am not a tradie and there is no logic in paying premium $$ for an item that would see limited use.

Basically i found that at times i would need to go to Bunnings anyway to get everything i needed, either because of price or just not being something Masters stocked.

Masters had a far superior wood selection and quality. Stacked and stored properly! Bunnings is saggy, bowed, knots in the timber (when there shouldn't be) and the service was much better at masters too.
Remember the days when Bunnings hired actual tradies?? Ask someone there now and draw a blank face lol.

  • i'm having trouble making payment I'm spamming the button to pay but nothing is happening. Anyone else having same problem?

    • Okay i found out the issue. I have a space in my first name but it doesn't recognise it. For those with a space in your name i suggest don't use a space character and it'll work.

  • Is the shelf worth it?

I still have the 2 drawer workbench unopened from the last sale. Everyone was complaining about how garbage the MDF is on that one. Hoping this one will be alright..
