      That's the main reason "top shelf only" exists (especially for plastics) however most modern dishwashers do not have an exposed heating element.

      It is more of an American thing to have an exposed element.

  These are horrible quality. Missus bought some about 2 weeks ago and one was broken. Extremely thing "glass" on these.

    I also broke one double glass mug from kmart. They are very fragile. But you can't expect much more for that price to be honest, still worth it

    I have two of these and have used them for about four months with no issues at all.

    We did have to inspect several boxes in store to find one that wasn’t broken.

    We definitely haven’t had to baby the glasses though, they don’t feel any better or worse than our bodum ones. In fact we have had two bodum breakages but none with the Kmart ones as yet
