  • so does this just connect to Wi-Fi or does it need a base station like an Arlo Cam?

Also anyone know if it supports home assistant?

    • I have this same model (i am crying seeing it at this price lol). it's great and only needs wifi and the app to get going (i would highly recommend an SD card for it though). not sure on the home assistant bit

      • Can you have it record to the SD card only, rather than to the cloud?

  • OK OzB, so why this Uniden and not Reolink Argus 3 Pro for $184?

    • Australian made vs Made in China

Not sure if Uniden has spotlight?

Reolink Argus 3 doesn’t come with solar panel?

      • Which one is made in Australia?

        Made in Australia? ,🤣🤣🤣🤣

I was hoping the rep might offer some reason that the Uniden was superior.
Guessing all made in China, Reolink does have the solar panel included, can choose a black kit as well if that's your thing.

I have the "Go" 4G versions of both. Looks like the same device to me. Can even add either to the other vendors app. Cloud upload not supported for the foreign camera if you do that though.
Honestly, I'd just get Reolink, pay $50/year for 30 days storage if you need more devices uploading to the cloud.

Now if Uniden or Reolink would implement some upload checking so that if signal is sketchy due to weather or whatever, it would try again later instead of just not uploading at all, that would be great.

        • The solar panel makes it look ugly.

I’m looking for a wired non POE wifi security camera, so I can easily replace my porch light with it

          • @MuddyClear: Just use a phone charger. It's a Micro USB port. Will also then record locally in a blackout :-)

I just wish I could flash my Unidens with the Reolink firmwares so they could use the Reolink Cloud, which is clearly the same as the Uniden as its the same interface etc. I do only have 3 unidens so just keep them on the free plan, the fact Uniden give 3 cameras a week of cloud storage for free while Reolink only gives 1 camera free access is about the only positive for the Unidens.

I got some Uniden first but since then bought reolink, which seem to be identical for less money.
