    Anyone playing games with this?

    • +10

Probably not considering it's weight and latency. Slower paced strategy games and the like probably fine but you'd defs want something more agile for shooters and the like.

Looks like a great mouse for solitaire

      • +1

Correct. Professional solitaire player here. You speak the truth.

    • +1

ive not got this mouse i got the Mx master 2 that was a decent mouse for everything so presume it be decent

    • yes, great for MMO and slow games. not FPS cause it's a bit slow and inconsistent.
get a cheap orochi or g305 for gaming and swap .

my issue is it's actually too large for my hands (that's what she said) , so I ended up not using it even for mmo because I was adjusting too much

I play games on this mouse and it's fine. You don't need a 'gaming' mouse in the same way that you don't need a 'gaming' chair.

Yes it's heavier than a gaming mouse but it'll take many hours to feel the fatigue and at that stage you have to question why you spend that much time gaming in one session. The 'latency' is overblown too - it's there if you go looking for it or compare it back to back with a gaming mouse but let's be real, the equipment is rarely the limiting factor to someone's gaming performance.

If you're on the sharp end of a competitive, fast paced FPS then sure, a gaming mouse makes sense and may make a difference, but for everyone else, nope.

    • Yeah regularly play Apex Legends and Overwatch with it. The weight takes getting used to, the extra buttons are nice to remap to certain keybinds and the feet are good on a decent mouse pad. I would say it’s just as good if not better then your average gaming mice if it weren’t for the weight

How often do you use your mouse with either hand?

I know speaking from experience, and I realise this is just me being completely weird, but I only use a mouse with my right hand. So, uh, yeah, perhaps something designed for one particular use case makes sense? Who knew?

      • +3

Ikr, plus the MX Master is so comfortable compared to an ambidextrous mouse. Tough luck for people who are left handed, but that doesn't change the fact that MX Master is a great prodctivity mouse and is comfy af.

        • +1

This plus the delta hub carpio 2.0 is a dream. So comfortable for a full day of work.

        • +1

I'm left-handed but always opt in to learn the right-handed way for anything. Guitar was a little brutal but worth it.

          • @lilchonk: Never had any troubles personally learning right handed guitar as a lefty. Not much more struggle than my brother, a righty, who was learning same time as me.

Can't fathom using a mouse with my left hand, not a lefty guitar!

        • 100% agree on the comfort, have one at work and it lovely to use, not at all fatiguing.

      • +1

You could dual wield both mice for twice the productivity.

On a more serious note never found ambidextrous mice very comfortable. Most of my left handed friends have just learnt to use their right hand for the mouse anyway.

I think the main use of an ambi mouse is for a claw grip with a lightweight mouse, which obviously isn't for this mouse.

Have they fixed the thumb button with this one or will it still be shit and then break after a year

    • The thumb button is fine
but the thumb wheel is broken for my brand new mouse
      Ended up having a replacement.

  • Question, which ones better: the Mac or Windows version?

    • Mac one looks sleeker, especially in white. Otherwise all the same.

      • +1

Both the normal and Mac version of the 3S have the same Pale Gray option no?

      • +1

I have a white MX Master 2S (twas a bargain at the time). They don't stay white for long. Unless you really want to match colours - get the dark one.

    • +3

I don't think the Mac version includes the LogiBolt USB dongle, same as the Anywhere and it's Unify USB dongle.
Mac versions rely on Bluetooth out of the box.

      • +2

Which is stupid as the dongle works perfectly well for Mac, I have mine plugged into a Mac right now (because it's hooked up to a USB switcher).

        • +2

Maybe Apple users are used to paying for dongles even if they should be included…

    • +1

I have a Mac and purchased the Dark Grey/"Windows" version.

Mainly as the Mac version doesnt include the Logi Bolt adapter. The bluetooth works perfectly fine but sometimes there can be latency so having the peace of mind with the adapter helps. I normally run it with the adapter.

Both have the exact same use and fuctionality with MacOS.

Cheers OP, been wait for retail shop to have this one on special so JB can PM and I can use up my GCs.

Wish they made this mouse out of another material other than rubberized plastic, can become sticky over time, especially in direct sunlight where is makes it very sticky

    • especially in direct sunlight where is makes it very sticky

This is for indoor use only.

      • No **** lol
However my office is next to a window, which gets quite hot

        • +1

Lucky you… at least got a window seat.

  • How do I get the officeworks price beat via click and collect? Do I purchase it, then show the discounted amount from Jaycar to receive a refund for the difference?

    • give them a call or price match in person

    • I just called my local OW in Melb and they won’t price match it because it’s a temporary price drop, not a “permanent price” drop. Guess OW are tightening their match criteria…

      • +3

Guess OW are tightening their match criteria

Your OW sucks. Call officeworks - 1300 OFFICE (633 423) and do a price match and do a click and collect at your local store.

        • Yeah ikr…

      • Thats complete BS from them. Nothing in their T&C about that

      • They price beat it fine the other day along with an MX Mechanical with some online store.

    • +5

I just walked into Elizabeth St Officeworks for it.
Found the display box on the shelves, walked up to the counter asking for the item + price beat- showed them the website. On my phone they checked the store (they were ok with Jaycar) and if it was in stock (at the time the website said low stock for delivery).
Paid the discounted $112.10 and left.

  • Claimable tax deduction?

    • +1

      Why wouldn't it be?!

    • Are you going to use it for work?

  • Thanks OP
Got one pricebeat to $112.1 from OW and delivered with no issue even though I just realised JayCar can only do pick-up now as their "delivery stock" is finished.

  • Price matched for 112 at OW West Gosford for me. No issues.

  • +1

Such a shame that you can't save the macros and key bindings to the mouse's memory… The gaming mice can but the productivity mice can't?

  • I have been a loyal customer of the Logitech MX series for years. I have upgraded from MX gen 1, all the way to 3s. Love 3s! I don't have a gaming mouse, but I never had a problem when using the MX series to play games. I have also purchased the MX Mechanical keyboard, I like the mechanical version more than the MX Keys.

  • Is it just me, or does anyone find the tactility of the 3S non-existent?

I bought one last month and hated it compared to my old grey MX 3. I didn't mind that it was much quieter than my MX 3 (although a bit off putting at first), but the 3s had no tactile feeling whatsoever. I ended up returning the 3S and buying one of the remaining MX 3 in black from a suppler off of eBay. I use the grey one at work.

  • with this code https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/780132 and this item https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/134252845328 + some gift card + shopback (10%)… you could get it cheaper $108 and less.

    • 10% cashback wont stack with that code

      • You can … i just purchased at $108 with the plus code. plus 2% shopback

  • Amazed to see Jaycar offer a decent price on something.
Usually they sell parts that can be ordered online for a tenth of the price.

    • It's weird that Jaycar is selling Logitech products, maybe they aren't selling hence the sale.
