Grabbed the small one! Bargain… I have been looking for a cheap one on market place

  • +13

Will my sidchrome trays fit in here?

    • +9

I have the 34" and the top drawers measure at 745x275x35mm, bottom cab top drawer is 745x355x45mm and the one underneath is 745x355x110mm
      Hope this helps

      • How is the quality?

        • +1

I got the big one as part of a work bench thing around Christmas last year and can't fault the quality, great for the price.

      • Is there an opening on top where I can feed a powerpoint into the compartment to power up chargers with the lid closed?

    • Just had a look, doesn't look like any of them will be a good fit without modifying.

    • I think so, just picked up my sidchrome trays, and ordered the 21" tool chest. If SCA measurements are correct, each drawer should hold one tray

  • +4

    Great price!
I bought mine about 5 years ago when the 34" was red. For the little amount I have, I love it.
Definitely glad I went the big one. It fills up quickly.

Don't forget gift cards if you're able to get in to any of those platforms.

For a fixed tool location, I'm thinking you could get 2 or 3 of those little 21" $71 ones and assemble them without the castors. Raise them off the ground using some cheap/free TV entertainment unit off FB marketplace so that they are at a better working height.

    • +2

That's what I did, except I used the Craftright ones from Bunnings. Built a small square riser out of ply and now it sits flush under my workbench, with no risk of bolts/10mm sockets rolling underneath.

  • Some SCA benches and shelving on special too. I bought this last week just for a gardening/potting station and got a $20 credit : https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-workbench-powder…

    • How's it go as a gardening/potting station? Surely you've replaced the MDF board with something else?

      • I've set it up in a pattio area about 1.5m back from the edge of the eves, planning on coating the wood in some sort of resin at some point in case strong winds bring water in but otherwise was going to leave it until the wood died and replace it with marine ply or similar.

Paint it quick! Mine turned into a mold farm one wet spell just from the humidity and the peg board and top went all warped.

  • Prices in description as a minimum please & from the lowest priced item in title.

  • Anyone knows where do you get those dot backboard for work bench?

    • +2

      You mean a pegboard?

      • Thanks will check it out at store.

        • +1

No problem. They also have metal ones in the garage shelving section, masonite ones are near the MDF sheet section

    • If you're in Melbourne you can get the cheapest pegboards by a margin from 'Dinya Designs'.

Commbank CC offer of $10 cashback over $50 spend may be available for some

  • +2

is the 21 inch too small?

Also, why is 22 inch over $100 more than the 21 inch?

    • I had this question too, I ended up getting the 21. If I like it I’ll grab another quickly

    • 22" has extra drawers

    • I was considering the 21 too considering the price, but actually went with the 22. It's significantly taller and deeper than the 21 so I'm only going up 1 inch in width for garage wall real estate.

    • Its higher quality, thicker, gas strut etc. Much better

  • +5

Warning about the drawers, they're not very deep, and they don't open all the way, only slides open 2/3 of the drawer depth. It's quite annoying to get stuff that might be sitting near the back of the drawer.

  • Stanley Mechanics Tool Kit 133 Piece on sale too
    https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/stanley-stanley-mechanic…

    • These ones are better quality (check out the reviews on the stanley ones on SCA site) and the tools that come with the stanley aren't what you'd expect from them like 10 years ago.

    • Any good though? Last time I tried Stanley power tools I was astounded by how poor the quality was.

      • Still using all my fatmax cordless power tools from masters. Very Solid

  • Thx grabbed the 21" for $61.99 with the Commbank CC offer

  • Damnit, missed out on the 22" for local collect. They wanted $70 for delivery.. I saw this deal a few hours ago but you snooze you lose.

Ended up getting a 21" anyway, hopefully big enough for my around-the-house tools. No local pickup but $17 delivery so not bad I guess..

    • Turns out I didn't miss it.

Checked back half an hour later and my local had it in stock again.. Just got off live chat cancelling my original order.

Already got my ready to collect message. Gonna' be super pumped tomorrow! My first adult toolbox.. 😅

      • yea just checked too, guess they restocked at most stores now. did you up getting the 22inch or 34inch?

        • Just the 22".

34 probably would have been overkill for me anyway. Athough, looking at the prices, maybe I should have just spent the extra.. 😅 I'm still excited for it anywho. 😁

  • +2

    they're selling out fast everywhere.

i saw this 8am this morning but didnt think anyone would jump on it
had to drive 1hour away to pick up the 34inch from a store that had stock.

its pre assembled already so thats why the delivery fee was so high.

    • +1

Damn, that's dedicated. I didn't want to drive more than 30 minutes.. 🤣 Atleast you went big with the largest one to make the most out of it!

  • Just noticed they are available in a lot more stores - was showing only 1 or 2 Sydney stores with stock earlier; now lots have them in stock.

    • Yer I got a call from Ringwood saying they were sold out, but he said that a number of the stores which showed Sold Out online had plenty of stock. So he moved my order to one near my house which worked out well.

  • +2

the 22" is way better quality then the 21" I went to get the 21" but left without it

    • Thanks for that, that's good to know as I cancelled my 21" for a 22" that came back in stock locally, shortly after ordering the 21.. 😅

Edit: After catching up on the comments, others have mentioned how much better quality the 34 is over the 22.. 😅 I don't have the room for it in my garage, neither my car so I'm not really that bummed anyway. Still happy I managed to get the 22 over the 21.

      • +1

good choice mate, the 22" had a gas strut lid, heaps bigger etc, the 21" really looked average to me. hopefully its on sale when i can afford it

      • Up to $50, would have to buy 3 or 4 for the 22"?
        • looked through all these didnt seen supercheap listed anywhere?
        • that would be great if possible
      • Up to $50, would have to buy 3 or 4 for the 22"?

        Yes.

looked through all these didnt seen supercheap listed anywhere?

        • Look for "The Super Gift Card" on ShopBack app under Promos in the Gift Cards tab.

        • With the Coles deal it's on the Ultimate Him gift card.

        • The one at Australian Unity Rewards is the same "The Super Gift Card" as the one ShopBack has, just with higher savings for those who have access to it.

        • thanks alot for making the effort to reply

They are 60% off RRP, not further 60% off clearance.

It just a % off sale, there's no "further" happening.

    • They were ticketed as clearance at my local before this % sale. 👍

  • Darn it. Can’t decide whether to get the 22” or 34”….

    • Just picked small one where I tested all 3 . Big one is way better in quality then 22 then 21 as per the price points

      • Leaning towards 34” but not sure if it will fit in my car (86)

        • Best is to go there and check.. if you want to buy online with GC or something you can just buy there.. there pretty good with pick up times..

        • +1

If it's an AE, you're probably only good for carrying tofu.. 😅

Also, about to watch Initial D again for the first time in 15 years. 🤣

        • +1

Definitely not. I got the 34" and it only just fit width ways in the back of my commodore station wagon. Didn't even bother trying the supra which I suspect would be similar to your 86.

  • Picked up the 21" . Got home and its dented. Might return it and get the 22"

    Thanks op 🙂

      Is this 34"?

      • +1

        Yes at gross 71kg.

        The 22 is around 51kg I think.

    • @park it Image for reference on the 34".

    • Any chance anyone has the boxed dimensions of the 34"? Trying to work out if it will fit in the car.

      • +1

Measured the box in store today

        47 x 91 x 81

        • @Soothsayer legend! Thank you.

          • +1

@AdamFury: Sorry forgot to mention, the height (81cm) may be 5-10cm more as the box in store had a broken bottom side and/or has a removable bottom piece. So best be conservative there!

  • Thanks op! Always wanted one of these but couldn't justify the price.
Got the 34", my garage thanks you.

  • Hi thanks for sharing this. I will be picking up a 22inch today, does anyone know where I can buy some foam for the draws thanks

    • they sell foam at supercheap i saw it yesterday, didnt look at price

  • +1

anyone know if the sidchromes from bunnings deal yesti fits in any of these?

    • Yes I want to know the same. Thinking of getting the 22”.

    • +1

yes , fits with ease in the 22"

      https://imgur.com/a/LmOyDZx

      • ty gonna go pick up the 34 now. something to do on a saturday

      • Thanks I’m going to get a 22”. 34” is way too big.

  • Thanks OP, ordered 34". Also added a workbench. It would be a good weekend :)

  • Got the 21. Very happy at $70. Metal is a bit thin, drawers slide nicely and it's solid on the castors.

It's a removable toolbox that sits on a trolley. Thanks OP

  • Got the 22 using $150 gift cards at 10% off and $10 credit for returning a battery and used oil. Good deal. Quality quite decent and a lot better than the 21.

  • Went to pick up the 21" and apparently only display stock left. Ended up getting the 22" also for the reason that the 21" looked a bit like a toy in comparison. Happy with the outcome.

  • Bought the 22” , the handle doesn’t fit on the side? The holes are empty ? Anyone else

    • +1

Handle slides into the slits and then you align it with the holes to put the screws in

  • Could someone please tell me the height of the 34" with the top toolbox lid open? With and without the wheels? Trying to work out if I can fit it on a bottom garage shelf.
    Cheers.
