  • Terrific price.

I'm looking for another car seat and curious as to why this one is the Ozbargain darling? Safety rating isn't particularly high and much more expensive than others around the $300 mark.

    • Strange that most seem to be under a rating of 4 if I’m searching correctly…

That site is widely regarded as inaccurate. They test seats inconsistently, and when they test seats with the same shell, they come away with different results.
The Graphene is a good quality seat, easy to adjust, and easy to install and has all the safety like the Active Head Restraint etc. Once you see seats in person you see the difference in the seats and their pricing. I went from looking at $250 seats to spending $400 for the extra safety and better (cooler) fabric). End of the day, it's your kids comfort and safety - whats an extra $100-150 when it lasts for 3-4 years?

Where is your source about the site being regarded as inaccurate? Asking as I'm looking for a child seat too & that's the website I'm using to make my decision on.

Curious to know if there were news articles or forum feedback about their testing?

        • "when they test seats with the same shell, they come away with different results"

Compare the results of a seat with different models as some models only differ due to the outer fabric hence you would expect them to have very similar results.

    • People like to follow the crowd. Is a good seat but overpriced

      • good seat but overpriced

What's an alternative that you've used or would otherwise recommend and has better price-performance ratio etc? Was about to pull the trigger since it seems unlikely it'll ever get back to the $350 lows from years ago but all the carseats and strollers comparisons and reviews have been a bit overwhelming to wade through.

  • Bought this via the baby bunting ebay store yesterday at $449 with the 10%. Does anyone know how to refund it or get EBAY to match price once you've made the purchase?

    • It’s still $449 before 10% off. The listed price in the OPs title is post 10% off. I don’t see what price matching you’re talking about unless you that it’s $404.10 and another 10% off on it

    Cheers OP, great timing!

  • How do you even choose between baby seats? Doesn't seem to be any universal rating system?

      Let the kid choose

  • Any good booster seats deal with a budget around $150? Please.

    • There's an $89 Britax that I would steer clear of, my kids found it wobbled around too much in the car (possible because it doesn't have a top tether). They've been happy with the $179 Britax instead which is $161 in the sale. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/223871053916

This Mother's Choice one might be a better deal, but I haven't used it https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/223871061984

    Thanks OP.

  • How's it compared to b-first ifix?

  • Have this seat in my wife's car. We've been really happy with it. It's more compact than most for a rear facing seat as well, which was a huge plus for us as a bigger seat would basically render the front passengers seat unusable.

  • Is it true ppl will just buy their baby seats from kmart now with cost living going up?

    • Maybe only for the 2nd or grandparents' car? There are worse purchases than $400 for something you're gonna use for 4 years for the sake of your child's safety and comfort.

  • How is this compared to Britax Safe N Sound Maxi Guard Pro

    • Different seats. Maxi Guard is for facing only.
You'll move into that once the kid outgrows the Graphene.
Graphene is extended Rear Facing and then can convert to forward facing up to roughly 4yo (depending on the size of your kid).
