  • I got their tiffany tuna and its unreal. highly reccomend

  • Does this wear overly big for 6 inch wrist?

    • Yes it would. The lug to lug length is short, but the overall width is substantial.

      • perfect, thank you

      • It's on the chuncky side but I don't think it would be too big. They are a bit hefty, the rubber strap would cut the weight down.

  • it comes up as $97.07 in AUD and in 67.66 USD, when i enter SS6 it says code cannot be used in combination , although i am not using any other code so i am confused. can someone help plz?

    • I successfully did a dry-run using code for US $59.73 by selecting 70GR-SWF Green-logo then Add to Cart followed by Checkout and entering code.

Not buying! One's enough for me.

      • Pretty cheap.. yeah I've had a black one for a year or two, have never felt the need for another one either but would replace it if it dies (which I can't imagine either).

        • In 2019, I swore the Weide 1009 would be my last cheapie. Can we think of the SD1970 in the same way?

  • May be even cheaper with 20% cashback tomorrow, but I'm assuming no coupons

  • And now…a tri-lume version, the SD-1970C.
First time I've seen it was this arvi. No big discounts yet.

    • Meh, I like the normal two tone lume and most people prefer matching. Still, $100 is cheap for these watches.

  • Mine just came. looks so nice. Had to remove 5 links from the SS bracelet, it was LONG!
Lots of grease between the links which is better than my squeaky AF Seiko SRPD.
I kinda want a rubber strap for it now.

      • Looks good thanks!

How do you adjust the length of this clasp style silicone band?

        • +1

At the clasp end of the silicone, you have reasonably well divided sections adjacent the springbar holes. I end up cutting 2 holes worth from each piece, using a sharp hobby knife. Good scissors could also do.

There's three holes of micro adjust on the included clasp, but for nicer look/feel I used the SD clasp with 6 positions.

          • @Speckled Jim: The new 6 hole micro adjust seems a bit long to me, and the safety clasp thing sits a bit open. Don't have huge wrists though.

Before they released that I just got a good quality clasp from AliExpress for not too much which is a better fit , and looks like the same one that SD ended up using (a mate didn't want his stainless steel bracelet so swapped him a strap).

            • @G-rig: That's disappointing to hear. I was led to believe the SD clasp was consistently good.

I've found with any size deployment clasp, if you don't remove the right amount of links (could be 3-3, 2-4 or 4-2 for example) one of the ends can stick out, almost straight. Similarly, the right amount of silicone should be trimmed from each side to prevent the clasp end being too far to the inside or outside of your wrist.

Also, of my seven silicone bands with the steel clasp, two have had a sloppy safety clip. It kinda clicks closed, but it's a light click and sometimes they can open without much help. Initially I was fooled into thinking they're aluminium and easily bent — not so.

            • @G-rig:

The new 6 hole micro adjust seems a bit long to me

              Sorry, forgot this bit.
Yes, the outside of the clasp is ~5mm longer than the shorter 3 micro clasp. Look inside (the bit that folds and sits against your wrist) and they're exactly the same length.

The longer top cap extends the 5mm I mentioned earlier. so 85-90mm (3 hole) and 85-95mm (6 hole).

              • @Speckled Jim: yeah all good just prefer the shorter one - as you say the safety clip seems floppy or doesn't sit real flush closed.

This is the one i upgraded to before they came out with the new and improved milled clasp and works very well instead of the cheaper flimsy one that came with the older versions:

                • @G-rig: Yeah it's a combo I don't have, the brushed old style top with milled inner section. But it's the little overlocking bit that's sometimes loose. It relies mostly on the springbar ends for the friction click, and I've made slight improvements using different bars.

                  • @Speckled Jim: Had a look at the loose safety clasp, any idea how you take it off, looks like a pop rivet or something.

                    • @G-rig: Sorry never tried, appears likely to break if you try. I just used different spring bars with slightly longer end knobs.

                      • @Speckled Jim: Yeah just trying to understand how that would help if the part that's loose isny able to be stiffened up. It's mostly fine and can always put the other bracelet back on or a black rubbery one.

                        • @G-rig: My SD milled one is okay, but the 3-hole ones that come with the sili bands…the little overlocking bit (the first/last thing to open/close).
They were sometimes insecure. Much of the "click" depends on the springbar ends that bit engages, and that's what I was referring to.

If there's looseness elsewhere, the only other thing I've had to do is wrap a little scotch tape around a springbar to help reduce slack on another watch. Meant to be temp ghetto thing.

blue face, blue silicone. omg it's beautiful. face reminds me of seiko srpc31, the way it radiates under sunlight. and that lume is for real.. even on the bezel!!

still not a fan of the turtle shaped casing. the crystal sticks out beyond the bezel. movement sounds snappy but seems to echo inside the casing. and the buckle in polished chrome, it matches the sides of the casing but somehow i feel it's missing something, can't put a finger on it

    thanks op

Great watches for the price, wouldn't over think it, they are supposed to be based on a vintage diver. I was never a big fan of the case shape but not an issue now and wears very well, short lug to lug is great. It's a bonus having great lume too, a lot of watches get that wrong (although you expect it with big brand divers).

nice to have a few different ones. Ends up being a good goto.

    Received mine today.

Very happy with the quality of the watch, awesome value for less than $90 bucks, worth every cent imho.

I have to remove 5 links for my little girly wrist so the included little tool helps. I think it looks good on me regardless 😆

  • Anyone with tutorial on how to remove the ss bracelet? Feels like it is stuck no matter how hard I try :(

    • +1

Not easy just takes a lot of effort

Or purchase the Burgeon spring Bar tweezers

PS I prefer the stainless steel bracelet out of everything on the SD, just leave it lol
