Very impressive printer (from reviews) and for this price, just wow! I'd pull a trigger on this one if I had no 3d printer yet.

    • +2

Great spec sheet - linear rails, upgraded extruder, dual z. If I didn't have my money-sink ender 3 v2, I'd consider this printer

  • The kingroon PETG is good stuff - prints nicely and seems strong - overall as good as an experience as my rain PETG.

  • +1

Must resist urge! save for Voron

    • +1

I’m saving for bambu x1 but these cheats deals make me want to replace out my ender before then.

      • Got the X1 carbon, excellent printer.

Reminds me of when I got my first ultimaker 2, well ahead of the game and just simply works

  • Are the extra features you get on the Sovol SV06 Plus worth the extra price? Waiting for a deal on that one atm …

    • Sv06 has a way smaller bed but has all metal hotend, PEI sheet and auto bed leveling.
Considering this has linear rails, direct drive and a big build area I would buy right now if I didn't have a Vyper already.

      • Plus has the larger bed and a few little upgrades over the normal SV06. But yeah it costs more.

Though I didn't see at first this is manual levelling … I'm willing to pay for auto at least.

        • You could have 2 of these for the price of the SV06 Plus, that's a big price for bed leveling and a PEI sheet, same bed size. Just being devil's advocate.

Edit: Install BLTouch Leveling Sensor on Kingroon KP5L (Firmware Download)
Upgrade your Kingroon KP5L (Full DIY version) 3D printers or Kingroon KP5L (Half-assembled Version) 3D printers with BL Touch or 3D Touch auto leveling sensor.

          • @Quarn: No cool, that's exactly the sort of feedback I'm after and mulling over.

  • I like the idea of a 3D printer but feel like it's either a rabbit hole of stuff you can do with it, or it gathers dust in the corner between the bi-yearly use. Is this a good entry level 3D printer or considered premium? Does everything get included out of the box or do you need to purchase other parts / filament?

    • All you would need is filament, which is the consumable.
To 3D print you will need to learn a bit, for starters this printer needs the printbed to be manually levelled. Not hard but not plug & play.
It's more a hobby than a tool still.

I find that a 3d printer can be a hobby of itself, but also complements other hobbies in a lot of ways.

I've found it useful for making bits and pieces for model planes, board games, gel blasters and random household objects from seedling planters to door stoppers to speaker mounts to cable restraints, as well as replacing bits of broken toys.

Your own mileage may vary, but I find that it will sit dormant for several weeks but then I will print one thing and remember several other things that also need printing, and it will work overtime for a few nights.

      • Definitely! Speaking of….fancy a printable r/c plane for free https://3dlabprint.com/shop/piperj3cub/

        • So these printers can make things of this size? Obviously in seperatemultiple pieces to make that 42" span. I've been wanting to buy a 3D printer just for hobby kinda stuff but unsure on what to get.

          • @teddiebear: I took the plunge last year and love playing with the printer. If you enjoy a little bit of a learning curve then this offer is well worth a shot. Watch a video on how to level the bed and you'll be good to start printing. LOADS of free things to print on Thingiverse and Printables.
So far I have printed the model plane (to hang from the ceiling), chain stay for my MTB, wall mount spice racks for the pantry, battery and tool holders for my power tools, lots of Gridfinity parts (watch it on YouTube and you'll be sold), an amazing Moon lamp, Starship rocket model, bolt gauge tool and lots more. Jump in, the plastic's warm :)

  • That is very bloody cheap.

    • Thanks for reposting this for me. It’s amazing how everyone’s been helping me repost but I felt bad copy and pasting my experience lol

But to answer your question, nope, haven’t heard back from them neither by email nor via OzBargain.

However I did win my PayPal dispute so if anyone decides to buy, at least protect yourself “slightly” by paying with PayPal.

I've had no problem ordering through Kingroon, parts & filament. I have been using the PLA for a while now with no hassles. I love the rainbow filaments because they seem to have a faster colour change than the average. I'm on my last couple of rolls of the rainbow and hanging out for another deal on the 6kg bundles…..hint hint hint :) Also hanging out for the dual & tri colour filaments to be available here.

    • I was after this too! Thought there would be a deal but not on the 6x spools. I used my last items way quicker than anticipated.

I also bought the 250x250 mm build plate too - which works awesome, especially for TPU filament!

    • thanks! now rainbow colors all in stock in our AU warehouse again!

  • Convince me not to get my first 3D printer. Been using the local community printer, so dont need one, but sub $200 is tempting.

Can this do carbon fibre? Ive printed a power window gear in just about everything else and it always melts/ goes soft in summer.

      Well, it's $250 Aussie

      • Showing $279 AUD for me

  • OK - have purchased my first foray into 3D printing after looking for a while :-)

Printer + 3kg PLA + auto bed leveler

  • Sold out. Should have got onto it quicker…

    • still have stocks, free feel to try again

  • If I was to buy one of these, any suggestions as to which accessories make sense to get with it? (I've got the filament, looking at the other accessories)

    • +1

PEI sheet, which we also have stocks in AU warehouse.

  • I should have trusted my gut that told me this deal is too good to be true. Specifically chose the AU Warehouse to ship the printer to Western Aus. Just got an email saying "our international warehouse doesn't support shipping to your address. You need to pay an extra $30USD to ship from China."

Then go to look at the 'Shipping Fee' link they sent, you can't just pay the $30USD, you have to buy sets of $1 or $10.

    Dodgy as. Stay Away!

    • sorry, our mistake, for Western Australia we would have extra 10USD shipping fee for printers. and shipping directly from our AU warehouse.

  • I would not use this site to buy anything. Hard to reach them to communicate and they just send your order even there is problem with it. Telling you they have Au warehouse but mostly not enough stock and usually end up coming from China and it takes ages.

  • A late thank you OP, for quick delivery. Enjoying this printer. Only main issue was the Silver filament I ordered was stringy, or became spaghetti on nearly every print (despite being fresh and kept in a suitable container)
