MAX G2 is much better for the price range

    • Can you show me where the G2 is available for around this price?

There's a very recently released Segway MAX G2 that's like a combination of these 2 scooter plus even more, it has hydraulic front suspension, indicators, larger motor 450W, Apple find my scooter installed (unfortunately no Android version), traction control!! self healing tyres, excellent hill climb capacity, 120KG load limit, up to 65km range, anti theft alarm. It retails for AU$1,699 but I've seen it on eBay for AU$1,482.90 after discount code applied, comes with an AU Segway warranty, but because this eBay store is basically a drop shipper there's no after sales support. I watched a detailed review of the Segway MAX G2 on Youtube and it looks like a fantastic upgrade from the original Segway Ninebot Max.

    • Nope sorry I was mistaken. Turns out there's two variants. Seems the original G65 released last year lacks the indicators and find my scooter features, unlike the revised G65 released this year.

Yes Segway needs to work on their model numbers, Segway Ninebot MAX G2, or Ninebot MAX G65, or Ninebot F65, 3 different scooters with similar names!
Electric Kicks is selling the Seway MAX G2 on pre-order for $1,499 it seems to be the "global edition", no speed restrictions so 35KPH. I think you can get a $50 discount if you subscribe to their email list also.

        • Thanks for the heads up. Just order from EK. I got on the chat and spoke to Luke, he applied a $60 discount for me, as I’m a returning customer. Not much more discount, but this is OzB. YMMV. I recommend these guys, always been super helpful

          • @harryv: @harryv That would make it cheaper than anywhere I could see, and over $250 less than the RRP, so I assume that's $1,439 If so that's great?
The website said on pre-order, did they say what the delivery time would be?

    • Lower top speed compare to Max G1.

      • You only able to ride speed up to 25km legally.

        • And 25kph is the max in the states fortunate enough to be able to ride a scooter legally on the road.

      • I've never heard of the MAX G1, is it a Segway? If so I've heard of the GT1.

        • Max G30 is what I was talking about, and it does have higher top speed.

          • +1

            @alext0413: I don't think so.
The unlocked top speed for the G30 is 30kph.
            The G2 is 35kph.

            • @ilu: Have two G30 v2 (brushless motor), not the white/lite version.

Stock and unmod. Both goes up to 30kph max.

              • +1

@alext0413: Yep, we agree the speed of the G30's is 30kph
                The G2 will be 35kph
G30 v2 is not the G2, in case that is the misunderstanding here

                • -1

                  @ilu: G2 stock top speed is 25kph.
                  G30 v2 stock top speed is 30kph.
G30 is the first gen of Max.

        • Unlocked, Max G30/G30M with gen 1 motor can go 32-35km/h and G30L with gen 2 motor can go ~38km/h.

  • Was hesitant to consider buying a scooter due to nsw rules and regulations but this seems like such a great offer i couldnt pass it up.

Pulled the G65 as my first scooter, hoping it all works out.

  • Does anyone knows Panmi phone number? I am submitting a claim against them with the Consumer Affairs and the form requires a phone number. I have asked them a few times but they are not providing any phone numbers. Be aware that if you buy from them there is no guarantee that they will ever talk to you.

    • Why are you reporting them?

      • Refusing a warranty claim.

        • That doesn't sound like them. Normally they happily take returns or refer to a service centre. What exactly is the claim on?

          • @Clear: How can a business no phone number be any good at the customer service? That's exactly like them I would say.

            • @alx88: My point is if it's an escooter then only certain things may be under warranty, while other things are not and would need to be repaired. Panmi are good at getting Segway issues sorted with the repair centres so it's surprising to hear that you have an "issue".

              • @Clear: It was a vacuum cleaner which didn't charge. My point is that if you buy from them, you might never be able to talk to them. That's worrying when dealing with a business. Most likely they are operating from outside Australia.

                • @alx88: They're most certainly operating from Australia. What did they say when you contacted them>

                  • @Clear: "sorry we do not have a phone number."
"We have dealt with consumer affairs before they can reach us at [email protected] and we can call them directly once there is a case number etc"
"Sorry, we don't have a phone number, We have dealt with consumer affairs before they can reach us via our email: [email protected]"

                    • @alx88: I meant when you raised a warranty with them.

                      • @Clear: It was a month after warranty ended. I told them ACL requires them to provide a reasonable warranty period which is most likely more than 12 months for a $500 vacuum cleaner. Then I received an email saying they are happy to repair it. I shipped it out and then they asked for money.

                      • @Clear: Even if I am wrong, they still need to provide a phone number as Consumer Affairs doesn't let the customer to lodge a claim without a phone number.

                        • @alx88: Just put 000…. and mention in the notes.

                          • @Clear: That's what I ended up doing. But then I wonder how Consumer Affair is going to contact them. There is a reason for them requiring a phone number. Hopefully they use the email address.

  • So without downloading the app the segway is limited/ unusable?

    • +1

Completely usable. You can turn it on/off and change the speeds easily without the app.

  • G65 Max price drop further to $949 from the looks.
