  Businesses can’t take away a consumer's rights

  The basic rights covered by consumer guarantees can’t be taken away by anything a business says or does.
  For example, a business can’t take away these basic rights by: saying that refunds are not available at all, or not available at all after a certain number of days

          @BarginHunter83: I said nothing of the sort. A faulty product is faulty regardless of whether it is opened or unopened. A change of mind is when you don't like the product after you bought it, whether it is opened or unopened.

          Big W has not tried to take away consumer rights under the law, unlike what you asserted and what this store does.
