    33W Anker

    Is that good?

From what I hear Anker is a good brand

  • My question is irrelated to this product. I often notice that Anker product is generally much more expensive than other brands. Do you believe that the price can justify the value you get? How is the actual quality of Anker product such as powerbank; charger (magsafe/non-magsafe) comparing to other brands? I also noticed that Anker often sells outdated product in Au market comparing to US market. Thanks

When it comes to chargers safety should be your main concern, there have been reports of cheap no name chargers destroying equipment and even starting fires.
From the research I have done Anker are pretty good and recommended by reviewers who have tested them.

There is a very popular YouTube channel of an electrical engineer who breaks down all these chargers. He finds that yes, there is a huge difference between brands. Premium brands usually have much more safer circuitry on the inside, have less line noise (bad for your battery), haven't scimped on circuit protection for your devices and are generally made of much more higher quality components.

Anker, Apple and Baseus always come out on top. UGreen is a close follower for the budget conscious.

Heymix and unbranded chargers, by far at the bottom.

      • Thanks. I will check Baseus brank products which are cheaper than Anker.

      • This sounds super interesting, mind linking the YT channel?

Sure, he does a whole bunch of tests on the different charger categories (30W, 60W, 100W, 12V, Powerbanks) so my summary is from all of them.

Here is an example and a link to his channel:

It has an extra $5 discount when ordering two, $48.52 for two chargers after both discounts added.
