  • WTF I paid 115 for this in Feb/March for 1tb.

Good drive tho. Can;t complain about it.

At this rate it will be $99 by dec. Loving these prices

So far I've restricted myself to buying Samsung SSD and now wonder if I've been dumb to pay the extra cost. Perhaps this and other brands are just as good.

With the recent failure rates and bad batches? Samsung isnt the guaranteed win it was in 2015.
Sabrent or Crucial are often doing 'better' in one way or another.
You have to research each model individually.

  • Is this dramless?

    • Yes, and if you don't have to get a well known brand SSD (i.e. Samsung, WD, Crucial), for $10 more, you can get a flagship class 2TB PCIe gen 4 x4 with DRAM. However, the problem is that with AUD getting stronger and SSD prices keep dropping, that SSD's price could drop even further (likewise for this P3 Plus).

      • You linked a Silicon Power drive; they're not lesser known.

They've been a top seller of flash memory since about 2006 or so.

I thought it was going to be one of those 'upcoming' china brands, not a global giant.

  • QLC and no DRAM makes this drive end up pretty far down on my list. Is the P5 better?

    • +1

      P5 has dram and TLC.
