  Can I connect Sub to a third-party soundbar, wireless speaker, or Bluetooth speaker?

  All Sonos is locked in. They connect only with each other. The only way to get external connectivity is via optical on models that allow it. So the sub can't be paired with non Sonos and non Sonos sub can't be paired with Sonos.
