Download NearByr from Apple's app store and sign up using the promocode listed in the web page of http://www.facebook.com/NearByrApp, you could get free stuff like coffee from Jamaica Blue Doncaster, ice cream from Movenpick Box Hill, Blueberry Puerh from Chat Tea and more… These deals would be expired on 31th of August.   However, when users sign up, they can get free stuff straightaway. It is only for Mel at this stage, but it could expand to Sydney in a few weeks, users in Sydney could claim gifts from then.

    but these deals are expired on 31/08/2012. So, MEL users can try this, but not for other states at this stage.

  We have known that there are at least 30 customers redeeming those coupons in our registered merchants already, so it's not a joke, it's real. We are sending away 1900 gifts at this stage.

  so how do I get the free stuff exactly? register using the iphone application? what's the promo code?

  I don't like the sound of this "you could get free stuff" "all you need is to stay-tuned", sounds like you just join their mailing list and promote their service on facebook for an odd chance of getting a coupon.

  I wouldn't say this is a bargain, atleast until it's cleared up a bit more.

  Ok. Entered promo code when signed up. It's available in my coupon tab. But when u try 'use now' it's asking for passcode (that i don't have). Thoughts??

    The passcode is only known by our merchants. In this regard, you need to show the coupon to our merchant, then they will type in the passcode or offer you the gift.

  Strange. I thought I posted the Jamaica Blue offer before.

  It is made to everyone and there's no need to get this app if that's what you want.

  Last time I checked, sign up for membership. You will be given a card and when you get home, register it online. They should then give you enough points for a free small coffee. If they haven't given you the points within a week or so, contact them and they will add the points.

    We understand that Jamaica Blue has membership offer. However, it's a one-off offer. In NearByr, our merchants like Jamaica Blue Doncaster is offering 1 free Egg Benedict everyday. If you sign up and check-in, you may get it (of course, there are other users also competing for it now).

  Guys, we must admit that the app has not been designed well for the users to sign up. Sorry for bringing you any inconvenience.
  NearByr is an app for finding local specials. However, we are not a traditional deal finder or group-buying site. Our registered merchants offer diverse prizes everyday, i.e., first prize (1 offer) is a free lunch set, second prize (5 offers) is 30% off the total bill and third prize (normally 20 offers)is 10%. The first user coming to the venue to check in could get the first prize, which means he can enjoy a free lunch set without any condition applying.
  To attract open-minded people like you guys to sign up NearByr, our merchants offer free stuff like coffee, ice-cream and etc. When our user base is large enough, we can talk to other merchants to ask them to offer free lunch or dinner as well.
