[Student Beans] Bose Soundlink Micro Bluetooth Speaker $119.90 for 2 ($59.95 Each) + Free Shipping @ Bose

190

I was tempted by the recent Bose Soundlink Micro deal for $75 but was unsure to pull the trigger. I was waiting for Bose or the Good Guys to price match so I could use a Student code…Well bose finally did.

I believe this is the cheapest they have been (/each pricing), however, the deal does require purchasing 2 as the student code only works for purchases over $150 :(

To access deal >>>

Go to the student beans page to get student code for $40 off $150 spend at Bose.

Then go to Bose Soundlink Micro page and add 2 to cart

Enter your UNIQUE STUDENT CODE; the total should be $119.90 + free shipping for the 2 speakers.

Not for everyone unfortunately but I think it's still a good deal.
New to posting so comment if I need to change anything; thanks

  • Can they be linked for stereo sound?

    • +2

on the website it says "Pair with other Bose speakers for more sound"

    • Yes they can.

Do students realize they might need to save money or nah

    • +2

Students are often capable of working, studying, managing their own budget and generally living their best life in their circumstances without your judgement.

  • Sound quality any good? In the market for Bluetooth speaker(s). Coming from bose qc35 ii headphones, so want something of decent audio quality but not too expensive.

    • +1

Yep, amazing for the size. Beats the Boom 3 outright and is less than half the weight. Only drawback is battery life, at apparently ~6 hours, but there's no way around that considering the size. A powerbank would keep it chugging for ages. Mine arrived today from the JB deal.

One of the best features that isn't mentioned is that the whole thing is covered in a layer of soft silicone, so you can toss it into any bag without worrying about it getting scratched, or scratching up other items. Oh and it's waterproof in case you like to sing in the shower.

      • Do you need an app to connect to it?

        • +1

you don't 'need' the app, but it's handy for renaming the device and turning off the voice announcements. then you can delete away.

    • +1

It compares with the UE Wonderboom 2 and the JBL Clip 4, although reviews seem to favour them, unless you’re already in the Bose ecosystem.

      • Not tied into any eco system. Do those other mentioned Bluetooth speakers need apps to connect to?

        • +1

Neither need the app, unless you want to pair multiple speakers, adjust the equaliser, rename the speaker, etc.

Good price, wish they change these to USB-C as they are still using micro USB.

    • +1

This model is from 2017, the sound link flex is 2021 and uses usb c

  • is a new model coming out since these are discounted by $100 in most retailers?

    • +1

most likely, but if you want the new model, be prepared to pay $150-200 or wait another 6-12 months for reasonable discounts.

  • Anyway to get a student bean account without a student ID?

    • I would like to know as well. Please let me know if you have any solutions.
