All time lowest. Great holding function to stop you from dropping bolts even with aluminum ones. Bear in mind these come with thicker wall and no size for 11 & 14mm (you can buy seperately).
Cheers!

"Wera" is a bit of a hint about the price… (i.e. quality rather than OzBargain prices)

i see….ze germans make them. that explains the pricing

I think they're made in Czech now

Turkish : Fu#k me, hold tight. What's that?

Tommy : It's me belt, Turkish.

Turkish : No, Tommy. There's a gun in your trousers. What's a gun doing in your trousers?

          Tommy : It's for protection.

Turkish : Protection from what? "Zee Germans"?

      • You can get great quality sockets for half that price, and without missing sizes. Example: https://toolswarehouse.com.au/products/auzgrip-a75402-12-pie…

  • How does the quality compare to Sidchrome?

    • Sidchrome is now just a cheap Chinese set sold at a premium price.

    • If you want cheap but good sockets use Daytona from Sydney tools. Or maybe ToolPro from SuperCrap.

Next step up is TTI or SP maybe?

Sidchrome used to be good, but they aren't worth the money anymore. Same as Kinchrome.

I am surprised people ask about the brand. Obviously, Wera does the tools foor people who have a bit of a tool fetish, collectors if you will. They do not just do the job, they also look incredibly sexy and possess some features normal tools of the same functions do not have (whether they are useful or not - that's another question).

I am not saying it is bad, if it brings you positive emotions - why not. It is the same as expensive watch or kitchen knife - a bit of a fetish really. I am the same - like the tools to be sexy. I prefer Japanese brands though.

      'sexy tools'….and twice!!
you sound like a fetishist…but thats cool!

Problem with the Japanese brands these days they're mostly made in China, I was in Japan a few months ago and even in their own stores half the stock was Made in China.

      • The only brand I found that wasn't made in China was KTC (steel tools; anything electrical was Chinese, and some imported tools are from other corners of the world)

    • What Japanese brands are your preferred choice? Hard to find Japanese brands in Australia, and given the weight, shipping entire sets can be rather cost prohibitive.

I work with small hand tools mostly so it's easy for me. Different brands specialise in different things. Kyoto tools (KTC, Nepros) are incredibly beautiful, but extremely expensive.
Vessel - is a great screwdriver brand and a lot better value.
Engineer is another great value brand.
Tone - fantastic brand specialising in motorcycle tools which is close to what I do.
SK11 - is a Chinese made Japanese brand which is just outstanding value. It is often cheaper than cheap noname crap on ebay.
It is worthy to mention a good Taiwanese brand, Sunex.
Hazet - is an extremely expensive German brand, but their bit holder is cheap on special.

Man its a cool function but that is extremely expensive even at the sale price. Hard to justify..
