PLE Computers - Purchase Warning

Apology upfront… my frustration levels are high, having attempted to sort out this mess for all of this week.

Ordered a Corsair iCue H115i RGB Pro XT AIO Liquid CPU Cooler from PLE Computers via eBay on Monday. Since placing my order I've received radio silence from PLE, despite messaging them to ask when the item was likely to be shipped.

Emailed PLE directly, and was told "all of our eBay sales are done through eBay alone we have none of the info on our end you would be much better contacting through eBay itself" which is basically washing their hands of it. I replied if I had a choice with eBay I would not be emailing PLE directly. Unfortunately there is no option to raise a case with eBay… well none that I can see? Only option that appears available is to go through PayPal?

In all the years I've been ordering items via eBay, I've never come across an issue like this… first time ordering from PLE Computers so who knows, maybe this is normal? PLE have my payment, haven't shipped the goods, and are not responding to messages on eBay, and palming me off via direct email. It has certainly made me think about ways I might order in the future.

Worth noting… I ordered another item online from CentreCom on the same day as I raised my eBay order with PLE, and received the item on Thursday. And I appreciate things can be delayed… but at least reply to a message and let customers know what is going on.

Hopefully someone at PLE will see my email and take some action before I need to go through the painful process of getting a refund via PayPal. Maybe think twice if ordering from PLE via eBay… as I said, it's my first time, so I dont know if this is the normal PLE approach?

Have normally had decent experiences with them, online and in-store. I wonder what's going on with whoever looks after their ebay sales

Everyone is used to Amazon where products go out quickly. 4 Business days doesn't seem unreasonable unless you have paid for express delivery.

having attempted to sort out this mess for all of this week

Hopefully that's an exaggeration, because you only just ordered it.

My reading skills indicate the author ordered the goods on monday. My calendar skills indicate today is saturday. I'd expect to receive confirmation of order by any cowboy seller, or retailer of better standing….on the same day I ordered.

Are you contradicting what the seller wrote regarding ordered on monday, no response yet on saturday? The only way such a contradiction seems reasonable is if you are the seller, and have inside knowledge. Are you the seller?

Or are you talking out of your "hat?" Are you suggesting that no response to an order in the next 5 days is adequate service?

Or do you have a different logical explanation of "hopefully that's an exaggeration, because you only just ordered it."

If you order an item on Monday you shouldn't have been trying to sort it out ALL of the week. If they have been trying to sort it out all week, then they are being impatient.

        • +1

Firstly they should of got a confirmation email the same day. Secondly it doesn't take a week for some lazy git to post an order or respond to communication. They aren't impatient just requiring a sensible turnaround of a couple of days in these modern times.

          • +4

@Geoff01: Ebay has an estimated delivery date. That's what they need to achieve, not what's expected in these modern times. If it doesn't come by that date, send an email and await a response.

    • PLE computers claims ‘we usually post items within 1 day of receiving payment’.
As payments are managed by eBay now, they’re pretty quick. 5 business days is having a laugh

Here is how to contact seller on ebay: find email for the order confirmation, titled Order confirmed:… Then click on view order details then More action drop down menu then Contact seller.

It sounds like the stock level on their eBay store doesn't reflect what they have on hand or that products come from somewhere else (e.g. an overseas supplier).

Pretty dodgy but not all that uncommon on eBay unfortunately.

So yeah, it'll probably come but you might have to sit tight for a little longer.

    • You are pretty much right… received feedback from PLE, and what they told me aligns with your comment.

I've bought from PLE via eBay and things did take a while. Also bought from other PC stores and they took ages before shipping the item too. I think we have been spoilt by Amazon.

    lol

It's like these ranty OPs are making their way through 'computer stores' from the Yellow Pages.

Does PLE Computers have a rep on here?

    • +5

I mean, check their store rating on eBay. 14837 reviews, 100% positive feedback. Based on the OPs comments you would think there would be at least one other person who had a bad experience.

When you buy something from PLE eBay it tells you on the page when to expect delivery before you purchase. You don't need to email them asking for that info. Granted mine arrived at like COB on the last day of that expected delivery window, it did still make it on time.

It feels like many disenfranchised folks having to vent their spleen over innocuous stuff such as this or all-out lie like that recent OP re: Centre Com & then request to delete it after it was refuted by the rep.

Do reddit & Whirlpool allow such posts?

Just go through the eBay messaging system to contact them

Apology upfront… my frustration levels are high, having attempted to sort out this mess for all of this week.

Sorry, but this is a plain-faced lie.

You placed the order on Monday, I doubt you would have done anything Tuesday and Wednesday. So you literally have been attempting to sort this out for a maximum of 1 - 2 days, not an entire 7 days as you have tried to claim.

Since placing my order I've received radio silence from PLE, despite messaging them to ask when the item was likely to be shipped.

    When did you message them?

Emailed PLE directly, and was told "all of our eBay sales are done through eBay alone we have none of the info on our end you would be much better contacting through eBay itself" which is basically washing their hands of it.

eBay has very stringent policies on contact between buyers/sellers outside of eBay and dispute resolution outside of their process. This line is exactly as per eBay's policies, perhaps a big more guarded, but given that eBay can ban sellers at a whim, it's best to stick to their policy and resolve all disputes via eBay.

I replied if I had a choice with eBay I would not be emailing PLE directly. Unfortunately there is no option to raise a case with eBay… well none that I can see? Only option that appears available is to go through PayPal?

Then eBay does not believe that you have reached the sufficient time since your order to begin raising an issue. Once you are able to, you can tell eBay that you have an issue with your order and outline exactly what's going on.

In all your years of ordering items via eBay you've never had to wait more than 4 days for delivery? I find that hard to believe.

Personally, I've ordered from PLE once or twice, no issues, neutral experience overall, so I'm not in their camp. Just find this a bit of an odd complaint. I mean sure, the order is coming slower than you probably would have wanted to, but it sounds like you're throwing a fit over something that's hardly an issue yet.

    1. Check the estimated delivery time that is shown on the eBay product page before you order to make sure it suits you.
    2. Check the estimated delivery time to you on your purchase history. If it is in the future, take a chill pill.
    3. As "p1 ama" mentioned, you have likely been trying to sort this out for 1-2 business days. Not all sellers can respond quickly to you - especially if they have set like a 4 or 5 day handling time.
    • PLE claim to dispatch within 1 day of payment.

I wouldn't contact PLE directly, only through eBay, then eBay can see what's going on between PLE (being the seller) and you (being the buyer).

Then if that’s not to your satisfaction, ie. they refuse to send the item, it arrives broken, etc… then eBay can step in and take control of of the situation, like Paypal.

If you have paid for Express Post and expect delivery in 1-2 days you can flag it with eBay messaging by messaging the seller through eBay, not directly outside of eBay as eBay won't know what's going on between parties.

  • From my experience, PLE are competent at taking the money and shipping the initial order.

When it comes to dealing with warranty claims, things get much, much slower. Like just over quarter of a year to replace a HDD that was DOA.

  • I have never had an issue from PLE from their online store. I usually pay express and even coming from WA to NSW, I get it within 1-3 business days. I tried to find your item on their eBay store and can't see it listed. So maybe they have ran out of stock. Not sure why no contact, maybe trying to source the product for you to fulfill your order and don't want to update you until they have confirmation on everything or maybe even check your junk folder to see if they have tried to contact you. Either way, if you're unhappy, just go for the refund.

  • To close this out… turns out the listing on eBay wasn't backed up by actual stock, and to their credit the person I was speaking with from PLE admitted it wasn't a great situation. So I've received a refund and have ordered an alternative unit. Case closed.

    • Not ideal. This happened to me with something from EBGames. They said they couldn't find any stock to fulfill my eBay order but you could still buy it from their regular website. I used a coupon too and I'm not sure if I lost it. Supposedly you don't get them back.
