Best value TV for PS5?

I'm looking to buy a PS5 but feel I probably need to upgrade my TV to get the most out of it (currently have an old, second-hand 40" Samsung).

Interested in what people feel is currently the best value / budget TV for use with PS5, sports and TV streaming.

I was hoping to ideally spend less than ~$1500 but put a C&C order last night for a 55" Sony X90L for $1780 with the weekends' deals at JB.

Is it worth pushing the budget a bit for this TV or are there better value options <$1500?

That's a good choice for a midrange TV set if you don't want to spring for OLEDs or go larger 65"+.

Enjoy it and stop worrying about buyer's remorse.

We got one of these:- https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/285103234483

$1049 if you have EBAY PLUS. Its got the 2.1 HDMI Port for the PS5.

    • What's it like with it being a Refurb, I'm looking at getting the 65" but unsure about condition/use etc with it being "refurbished"

It came in the original box & I can't see a difference myself.

Check that it has real HDR, with at least zoned backlighting. I see a lot of relatively expensive TVs that don't have zoned backlighting and though the image might be pretty good, when you have bright and dark parts on the screen at the same time they don't have a way to make the bright parts shine and the dark parts dim. HDR is the true next gen feature for games and TV/movies, not 4K. You want light at the end of the tunnel scenes to be a disc of blinding light surrounded by inky blacks. And candles to actually shine light from the flame.

  • Yes, Sony tvs obviously pair up well with the ps5, that's my choice of tv as well for gaming and sports, but settling for lasts year's K model.

  • the c835 is a really good tv for gaming and sports, also a very good picture with mini led, better than sony and samsung and also really good value, they often go on sale too. have one myself and i love it
