Requirements of Türkiye citizenship by investment
To qualify for citizenship, the main applicant should fulfil one of the following investment requirements:

  • Acquire at least USD 400,000 worth of real estate
  • Invest a minimum of USD 500,000 fixed capital contribution
  • Deposit at least USD 500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish lira into a Turkish bank account
  • Commit at least USD 500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish lira into government bonds
  • Commit at least USD 500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish lira into real estate investment fund share or venture capital investment fund share
  • Commit at least USD 500,000 or equivalent foreign currency or Turkish lira into a private pension system for a minimum holding period of three years
  • Create jobs for at least 50 people, as attested by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services

The main applicant may include their spouse, dependent children below the age of 18, and children of any age who are living with disabilities in their application.

Procedures and time frame of the Türkiye Citizenship by Investment Program

After applicants have chosen the qualifying investment option, a residence permit application shall be made on the family’s behalf. The main applicant is then required to open a bank account in Türkiye.

Once all application documents have been prepared (including applicable certifications and translations), the investment can be completed and the documents submitted to the government. Once the application has been received by the government, the review process will begin and an interview may be requested. Applications are typically approved within 120 days, following which the citizenship documents are issued. The passport application can then be submitted.

          Zero capital gains was always one of the perks of Turkey. Sure there's some downsides too. But that's a big one for the person who knows how to exploit it. That said, Australia / ATO are now trying to tax all income generated by anyone deemed Australian citizens even if they are residing in the foreign land, I think that also includes corporates etc (though I'd need to dig deeper) - if so, the way it's going is one would need to revoke their Australian citizenship to accomplish that goal. USA does the same thing, I think Canada and NZ are similar.

          Could be wrong however.

          Plus, a year or so back, this deal was for $100,000 or $250,000 USD if I recall. They jacked it up recently.

          Like crypto, or hate it, you'll want to be accustomed to it in countries like Turkey with inflation problems. The fiat isn't going to get you anywhere.

        Property prices are increasing more quickly than the currency rates because of government's open border policiy for syrian, afghani, pakistani and iraqi people. Turkey has around 15 million non citizen people in their lands and obviously it dramatically increases the housing demand.

    If anyone is seriously looking at buying a second citizenship, St Kitts or St Lucia is where it's at.

    I wouldn't be investing anything in Turkiye, which is getting closer and closer to representing a failed state.

      The good: You live in a country that's technically a part of Turkey. European holidays are cheap.

      Did you know the US is one of the very few countries that require citizens to pay US tax on certain assets even for non-residents?
      This is why a lot of people renounce their US citizenship (e.g. Boris Johnson)
      Almost makes it only worth being a citizen if you want to be a US resident.

    I would not even move there for free. Interest rates have just doubled overnight to 15%. Turkey has the most jailed journalists of any country. It has invaded Syria, Iraq, Armenia, and Cyprus. It threatens Greece with war almost daily, and enters Greek airspace with armed fighter jets and waters with coast guard. It uses migrants as a political tool with organised caravans to Greece, whilst blackmailing EU for billions to house and feed them.
