    Red leader, standing by.

  • +13

Powers everything from hardcore Xbox games to deep water submarines.

  • +1

I really wish this was a solid red with no white

    • +1

I think the red and white looks decent at least.
The blue and white looks goofy though.
I think microsoft just wanted to save $$$ by not making seperate parts for the back pieces. Which is kind of weak for a thing thats usually like $89 and doesnt even come with a rechargable battery.

      • +2

I considered the replaceable batteries a hige plus when looking for a controller for PC. Nice to know they won't be ewaste in a couple of years

  • +1

Is Xbox or Playstation the market leader for PC gaming controllers?

    • +12

      Xbox for sure, native support.

    • playstation dual sense is better controller with more features, DPad is better
and might be more nicer to use as well.

but it is not microsoft product so not natively supported in Windows..

It will work in steam though.
And there is software that will allow it to work outside of steam as a xbox input type of controller.

      • Disagree, Series controller is far better, and I have big hands.

    • +4

Xbox controllers have been the default choice since the 360 gen.

      • default for pc only cos it is natively a microsoft product so works in windows natively.

just from a design and comfort point
        the ps5 controller is better.
and it has more features than xbox controller but that is only for ps5..

The Dpad on sony controller is better for games that use it than xbox one.
Never really like the Xbox dpad on any of their controllers.

        • +5

I use both, on ergonomics xbox wins comfortably, the sticks are better placed and easier to use. On features Sony wins

          • @choofa: xbox controllers looks and feels cheap
and with the amount of features + tech that is in a Sony controller,
the Sony controller probably more expensive to make as well.

microsoft probably making a nicer profit for each controller than what sony would get..
consider how much they charge for each controller.

              @pinkybrain:

the Sony controller probably more expensive to make as well.

This isn't a plus. Take away the touchpad and you're left with a weird looking DualShock.

              • @smartazz104:

not saying plus or not plus

the point is sony controller is more expensive to make with all the features it has vs what xbox put in their controller..
Sony got dual sense, dynamic adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, touchpad, mic, speaker, RGB LED, built in battery..

You have more immersion in games with the Sony than the xbox controller.

is there much change or new features from previous gen xbox controller to current gen?

                point is…
microsoft is probably making a bigger profit on their controllers with the price they are selling it.
They could lower the price since their Build of Material cost would be much lower.

Comfort is very subjective then. I've never been able to be anywhere near comfortable on the symmetrical joy sticks of the Playstation controllers. The Xbox layout makes far more sense to my brain.

          • @harvestloon: guess it depends of console you mainly play on
don't have issue with the symmetrical joystick or non symmetrical joystick or layout

I still think the dual stick feels more comfortable to rest the thumbs while moving the L stick in games
xbox non symmetrical joystick feels like you need to put more effort in L thumb movement..
since the stick is higher up from where the thumb would naturally rest.

            • @pinkybrain: I use both and honestly I'm happy with either

Both controllers work well and are equally comfortable for me, it's really just personal preference

        • Well that's just wrong, it's default for PC because the controller is the best feeling and it works natively. You may think the PS5 controller is better for XYZ but the market doesn't when it comes to PC. Sony does have more features but the Xbox controller feels much better in the vast majority of people, hence why it's been the default controller for the past decade or so.

          • @Mooncakes:

Well that's just wrong, it's default for PC because the controller is the best feeling and it works natively.

The controller is natively supported cos it is Microsoft product so they support on their own Windows OS..
            Best feeling is subjective..

the market doesn't when it comes to PC

Using the market is a bullshit when Sony is not a a proper option.
If Sony controller was natively supported in Windows, then we can see what the market actually chooses.

Sony does have more features but the Xbox controller feels much better in the vast majority of people

Xbox controller is cheaply made and looks and feels cheap as well.
There is hardly any new tech compared to their last gen controller.

What they give you in features and what they charge in price is not even worth their price.

Comparing dual sense to xbox controller,
Dual sense is much better controller period…
There is heaps more features that makes it a better controller and more immersive controller.

One of the best thing about PS5 is the Dual sense controller.

The Xbox series X cannot say the same about their controller.
There is hardly any new features that makes it better than their last gen controller.

  • any xbox deal please?

    • +2

$399 for series s is best price atm.

      • kicking myself not getting the series x ebay deals the other week

        • There was?!?! I've had that keyword on my notify list for months now, but never caught a Series X deal. And with the price about to go up, I'd really like a Series X before it does.

  • Looks like they only had 8!

  • 8 in total….

but very good controller… in my opinion best of them all (expect elite)

  • +1

I was going to get this, but it looks a lot less vibrant and significantly tackier and plasticky than the advertising.

If you want red see if they still have the maroon one, its looks closer to what it is on the box and is nicer.

  • +2

amazon selling these for $69 delivered

  • +2

These any good for controlling the submersible I'm building?

    • Better try PS5 one as Xbox one got a poor record history.

  • This works on iOS 1?! Damn - the backwards compatibility is amazing on this thing! Especially since the iPhone 1 only supports headsets over Bluetooth.

  • +1

I use this exact controller for my PC. Bought a long USB cable so I don't have to worry about batteries at all. Highly recommended

  • Yep, out of stock, darn. Though I read another comment that the red doesn't look as good in person. It looks real good on the web page though :)
