½ Price: Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream $7.25 @ Woolworths (Online Only)

110

Straight 50% off the Ben & Jerry's range at Woolworths. Can only see 12 listed when querying Woolworths online without a pickup location set so presumably that's all that's available. Looks like some are half price in store while others are online only.

Half price, lol Woolies having another flog by over inflating the base price so they can call it half price.

    • That's just regular B&J's price wherever you go.

      • +3

No, its woolies being greedy. Its $2 cheaper normally at pizza hut

Actually only $1.50 cheaper, so 10% less than the RRP, which is $14.50 as far as I can tell. It's what my local IGA charges. Maybe Pizza Hut hasn't put the price up with inflation? I don't know, but $7.50 is a good price if you like wasting your money on fancy flavoured ice-cream. It's also "on sale" at Coles but there it's $10.

yeah nah regular is 14 bucks or more

    • +1

Absolutely agree there over priced half price is ridiculous I don't shop there anymore .

    Bloody rip off

    • -3

Considering a scoop of ice cream is normally $4-6 now from an ice cream shop, $7.25 for a tub doesn't seem unreasonable. Especially for those who enjoy the product.

      • -2

exactly. the complainers are mostly boomers thinking ah back in my day this was this and this was that.

        • +1

nah just people who arent stupid enough to pay $4-6 for a scoop of frickin ice cream

          • +1

@franco cozzo: Rent is sky high, ingredients and material prices are soaring, these botique stores are increasing their prices to stay in business.

I dont consider it stupid to spend a few dollars to enjoy a day out and support a local business.

Why are people complaining about inflation?
    I don't think they've thought this through.

My monthly 10% off now gets me an even bigger discount, so that equals more savings…

    • +1

..because there is a difference between inflation and price gouging to have "half price specials".

      • yeah totally they are price gouging because logistics fuel ingredients went up in price not like they want to you know…

        • oh, then pizza hut must be immune from such funny business

        • Yet they can mysteriously offer their products for half price…

          • @brotherfranciz: its called getting customers in not because they can afford it. Its like talking to bunch of zombies.

    • +1

lmao because they are uneducated something can never stay the same price forever, inflation exists, it's just funny listening to people complain about the price increase on specials. Don't like it ? Don't buy it simple.

It's about calling out business reporting record profits meanwhile increasing the average grocery bill by a significant amount.
Sounds like double dipping to me.

    • Yeah why are they complaining?! Better not tell those poor plebs that woolworth's profits went up 14% over last year, double the rate of inflation.

      • -2

oh wow a business making money cant be because its what a BUSINESS IS

        • +2

You are claiming that price increases are due to inflation of logistics and ingredients yet the company increased profits 14% on a 4% revenue increase.

I do not envy your accountant.

  • In America, it usually gets on deal like 2 tubs for $3.99. it's rip off here in Australia

yeah …..sure australian health care is 'free'

        • My niece's insurance medical bill for 3 nights of ICU came to 96K USD.
Pretty sure if she was here we wouldn't be paying anywhere those numbers.

          • @compound: She would not even get admission in ICU if she was here. Don't have enough emergency beds, let alone ICU.

      • +2

It's a big scam in America, feed everyone cheap Ben and Jerry's, give them health problems, make them bankrupt because they can afford the hospital bills.

        • +1

Yep yep and they will be paying it off for the rest of their life.

    • It's also legal to own and carry an automatic assault rifle on the street there, what's your point?

    • America has huge subsidies for the dairy industry while Australia does not.
